Shannon Beador was seen behind the wheel on Tuesday, marking a significant moment just shy of a year since her arrest for DUI and hit-and-run.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 60, was photographed using a breathalyzer to start her car, a day before her ex-boyfriend John Janssen and his new partner Alexis Bellino announced their engagement.
In images obtained by Page Six on August 28, Shannon was dressed casually in an all-black outfit, consisting of leggings, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail.
The photos show her walking to her vehicle and then blowing into the handheld breathalyzer device to activate the ignition.
This requirement stems from Shannon’s DUI incident last year when she crashed her car into a Newport Beach property with her dog, Archie, in the vehicle. Following the crash, Shannon attempted to leave the scene but was later apprehended.
As a result of the incident, Shannon was sentenced to three years of probation, 40 hours of community service, and enrollment in a nine-month alcohol education program. Reflecting on the incident, Shannon expressed deep regret and relief that no one else was hurt.
“I am grateful that no one else was injured besides me in this incident. I have learned so much from my terrible mistake that night and realize that driving any distance while impaired is too far,” she told Page Six through her attorney.
After her outing on Tuesday, Shannon took to Instagram to share a more polished side of herself, posting a photo of her glammed-up look as she prepared to film a confessional for RHOC.
She expressed gratitude for her support system, writing, “Nothing but love for those close to me,” and tagged her glam team while adding hashtags like “#grateful” and “#family.”
Shannon’s post was met with positive feedback from her RHOC co-stars and fans alike. Vicki Gunvalson commented on her appearance, calling her “so classy [and] beautiful,” while Kelly Dodd noted that it was the “best [she’d] ever looked.”
Fans also rallied behind Shannon in light of Alexis and John’s engagement news.
