The 47-year-old reality star took to Instagram to share the joyous news, posting a photo that showcased her sparkling engagement ring while she cozied up to John.

“On Cloud 9,” Alexis Bellino captioned the post, adding several heart emojis to express her happiness. “Celebrating 9 months of love and laughter, and looking forward to my forever with you. Every moment together has been a gift. I am so in love with you and the beautiful life we’re building together with our kids. And the answer is 100000000% yes.”

Alexis Bellino also included a Bible verse in her announcement, writing, “1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

The backlash on the engagement post was so intense that Alexis had to disable the comments altogether.

A Love That Blossomed Quickly

Alexis and John’s relationship began in November 2023, when they first met at The Quiet Woman, a popular restaurant in Corona Del Mar, California. The location is well-known to RHOC fans as the site of many memorable moments, including an infamous argument between Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd in 2017.

In the Season 18 premiere of RHOC, Alexis reflected on the night she met John.

“Nov. 18 is the day that John Janssen walked into my life. I met John at Quiet Woman. Shannon does not own Quiet Woman; I’ve been going there for over two decades,” she stated. “John walks in and ends up sitting at my booth. We tried to fight the feelings. After week two, John and I knew that was it. I don’t know Shannon, I’m not friends with Shannon, and unfortunately your heart wants what it wants, and here we are. Take us or leave us.”

The couple’s relationship quickly became a hot topic on the show, especially given John’s recent split from Shannon, with whom he had a long-term relationship. Alexis’ return to RHOC for Season 18, following her exit after Season 8, added another layer of complexity to the ongoing drama.

She has a wonderful side to her,” John shared during the July 30 episode, where he appeared alongside Alexis. “But I think people out there just assume, ‘John was the problem in the relationship,’ and I would just challenge people to think about what it might be like to be with Shannon.”

He continued, “I will say that, ‘What was it like?’ It was, ‘What is it like to fail every day, all day, every day? To fail at everything?’ That’s what it felt like to date her.” John also compared his past relationship with Shannon to his current one with Alexis, stating, “This is what it’s supposed to be like. There’s a lot of stress that’s gone from my life.”

Shannon and John began dating in 2019 and were together until late 2022, when Janssen ended the relationship. Despite their split, Shannon has spoken publicly about her feelings for Janssen, telling PEOPLE in January 2023, “I’ve never loved anyone more in my life. I was hopeful this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way.”
