Shannon Beador EXPOSES What Producers Cut from Explosive Alexis Showdown!
Shannon Beador recently opened up about several aspects of her life that didn’t make it to the screen during the current season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
In a candid discussion, she addressed her ongoing drama with Tamra Judge, her past relationship with Alexis Bellino’s boyfriend John Janssen — who is now suing her — and what it was like filming with both Alexis and Tamra amidst these tensions.
John Janssen, who had a relationship with Shannon, alleged that after their breakup, Shannon owed him $75,000, which he claims he lent her for plastic surgery expenses. Shannon, however, has not repaid him, leading to further conflict, especially as Shannon has had to share the screen this season with Alexis, John’s current girlfriend, and Tamra, who was once Shannon’s close friend but has distanced herself after Shannon’s DUI incident.
During an appearance on Scheana Shay’s Scheananigans podcast, Shannon didn’t hold back when discussing her fellow Housewives. She named Peggy Sulahian as the most boring Housewife, while labeling Tamra as the biggest “chore” and “horror” to be around. Shannon also called Tamra the pettiest member of the cast, underscoring the deep rift between the two.
While Shannon is not eager to see more of Alexis on the show, she expressed a desire for alum Gretchen Rossi to make a return. Shannon admitted that she had initially disliked Gretchen simply because Tamra didn’t like her, and Shannon wanted to be loyal to Tamra. However, after a recent sit-down with Gretchen, Shannon’s perspective changed. “And I thought, ‘gosh she’s really a sweet girl. I can’t believe I didn’t even try to pursue any sort of friendship with her,’” Shannon revealed, reflecting on her newfound respect for Gretchen.
Scheana also recounted an incident at the last BravoCon where Alexis went off script during an award presentation for Vicki, the OG of the OC. Alexis made a pointed remark on stage, claiming she was “the only woman [on stage] who hasn’t slept with Slade Smiley,” Gretchen’s husband.
“I had no idea Gretchen was going to be there, it was a surprise,” Scheana said. “So I’m talking to her after and I’m like, ‘Wait so that was not planned?’ And she was like no. She was very offended by it … So later that night at the afterparty, I see Alexis and she’s like, ‘Oh my god hi I’m Alexis!’ I’m like, ‘You’re the one who said something really rude about my friend’s husband on stage.’ And she was just like, ‘Uh…’” Scheana added that she quickly ended the conversation, saying “nice to meet you” before walking away.
Shannon then shared how Tamra was “seething” at BravoCon when she saw Gretchen and Alexis on stage. Despite this, Tamra and Alexis apparently reconciled at the afterparty, a move that didn’t sit well with Shannon. She confronted Tamra about it later, particularly about Tamra posting photos with Alexis, reminding her that Alexis had previously sent them a letter during her ex-husband Jim’s lawsuit. “[Tamra] said, ‘I think Jim made her do it,’” Shannon recalled. “But you know that’s part of our season, because she told me to dig that letter up, so we’ll see if I was able to dig.”
When it comes to a potential friendship with Alexis, Shannon is firm in her stance, saying she would “absolutely not” be open to one. She recounted how she first learned of Alexis and John’s relationship when someone called her, informing her of a photo of them together. “The minute that I got that call, I knew they were going to be dating,” Shannon said. “I just knew it.”
Reflecting on her own relationship with John, Shannon said that after their breakup, they briefly got back together, but both seemed to know deep down that it wasn’t going to work because there was “too much blood spilled.” She described how John would love-bomb her by sending flowers and sweet notes every few days, but their relationship ultimately fell apart. “Slowly he would leave his clothes [at my place],” she noted, adding that when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, he had nearly moved in with her completely.
Shannon also touched on the lawsuit John has filed against her, claiming that she found out about it through People Magazine.
“They gave People a copy of the complaint,” she stated. “He never asked me for the money back … and I offered him payment in full, because the attorney’s fees are going to go way over $75,000 … And he said no. And so clearly it’s not about money … He wouldn’t sign a non-disparagement agreement, which is standard when you settle with someone. So clearly he wants to disparage me or hurt me.”
Adding to the complexities, Shannon shared that John had added a fraud claim to his lawsuit, alleging that she “intentionally took money from him” and is now seeking punitive damages. Shannon said that fellow Housewife Emily Simpson, who is an attorney, found it “suspect” that John filed the lawsuit during filming.
Reflecting on the recent turmoil, Shannon described the dinner fight with Tamra and Alexis as the “worst day of filming in my 10 years on the show.” She also criticized Tamra’s reaction to her DUI, stating that Tamra wasn’t coming from “a place of caring” but was “all for show.” Shannon added that Tamra labeling her as an alcoholic was “defamatory.”
In a final note, Shannon revealed that her comedy show, Tres Amigas, with Tamra and Vicki, is “done” for good, though she and Vicki will continue to tour. The end of the show marked yet another fallout with Tamra, whom Shannon believes is more concerned with the show than with genuine friendship. “With Tamra, it’s all about the show … She’s just so opinionated about me, she doesn’t know anything. Like you’re kind of obsessed,” Shannon remarked, highlighting the ongoing tension between them.
