Shannon Beador Accuses John Janssen of Criticizing ‘RHOC’ Cast for Dressing Too Provocative 

Shannon Beador has recently disclosed some surprising revelations about her ex-boyfriend John Janssen, particularly regarding his opinions on fashion and appearance.

On the latest episode of Scheana Shay’s Scheananigans podcast, the Real Housewives of Orange County star claimed that John previously suggested she and her fellow reality stars should dress more conservatively.

During the podcast, Shannon, 60, shared a memorable conversation with John from when they were still together. “Right before we broke up, I was in New York doing press, and he’s like, ‘You really should cut your hair, so it’s more age appropriate. Like, if you have really long hair with extensions, it looks phony,’” Shannon recounted. She also alleged that John would criticize other women’s fashion choices, saying, “‘Why do these girls dress so provocatively? Like, they really should cover up and be conservative.’”

Shannon implied that John’s remarks were hypocritical, especially considering his new relationship with Alexis Bellino. “I think that’s kind of what Alexis and her hair is,” Beador suggested, hinting that John’s current partner embodies the style he previously criticized.

Despite their on-again, off-again relationship from 2019 to 2023, Shannon expressed that she now feels disconnected from John. “If they’re happy, great. I don’t want to be with him at all. I don’t,” she reiterated.

In response to Shannon’s allegations, John, 61, issued a statement to Page Six. “Although Shannon may have occasionally asked for my feedback and opinion on her own hairstyles and clothing options, I never commented on how the other women dressed or styled their hair,” Janssen stated. “It’s sad to see Shannon resorting to attacks on Alexis’ beauty and appearance.”

The drama surrounding Shannon, John, and Alexis has become a focal point on the current season of RHOC. Alexis and John began dating in November 2023, about a year after Shannon confirmed her split from John. However, Beador later claimed they briefly reconciled before ending their relationship for good following her arrest for DUI and hit-and-run in September 2023.

Initially, Alexis and John had intended to keep their relationship platonic, but their dynamic shifted when Alexis confirmed their romance with a kiss in December 2023. John showed his commitment to Alexis by presenting her with a $16,000 promise ring for Christmas. By March, Alexis revealed to Page Six that Janssen would “probably” propose soon, and Janssen expressed that he “cannot picture my life without her.” Alexis further confirmed their engagement plans in July, stating they had been “looking at engagement rings.”

Navigating the complexities of being in the same friend group, Alexis and Shannon have had to manage their relationship on RHOC since Alexis returned to the show as a “friend.” The tension between them escalated on the most recent episode, where Alexis claimed to possess damaging videos of Shannon from the night of her DUI arrest. She even threatened to release the footage if Shannon did not cease speaking poorly about John.
