Amanda Batula Launches Swimwear Line After Kyle Cooke Didn’t Agree with the Idea
Amanda Batula is making waves with the launch of her much-anticipated swimwear line, Amanda Batula Swim.
The Summer House star, who shared her aspirations of starting a swimwear brand during the last season of the show, officially announced on June 14 that her dream is becoming a reality.
“[Amanda Batula Swim] coming soon,” Amanda excitedly wrote in the caption of a teaser video posted to Instagram. The video gave fans a sneak peek at decks of bikini designs and fabric swatches, over which Amanda’s signature was prominently displayed. She also revealed that the collection would be available exclusively at South Moon Under, a popular clothing retailer.
The announcement quickly garnered enthusiastic support from Amanda’s Summer House castmates.
Paige DeSorbo hyped up her friend with a comment, “Let’s gooooooo,” while Lindsay Hubbard expressed her excitement, writing, “I’m gonna need one of everything!!”
West Wilson chimed in with, “TURN ME TF UP,” and Jesse Solomon added a playful note, saying, “I think it’s safe to say I’m excited to see the product.”
Gabby Prescod stated, “IKTFR!!!!!” while newbie Lexi Wood said “Eeeeeeeee SO excited for you.”
According to a press release from South Moon Under, Amanda’s collection is designed with a focus on adjustability and support, catering to women of various shapes and sizes. The line promises to capture Amanda’s unique understanding of confidence and comfort in swimwear, offering essential pieces in classic silhouettes, including bikinis, one-pieces, and cover-ups.
The collection will also feature “different product drops” scheduled for various seasons throughout 2025, including “Resort (Jan/Feb), Spring (March), Summer (May),” with each drop consisting of around seven to 10 pieces.
The styles in the collection will range in price from $60 to $180 and will be available exclusively at all 28 South Moon Under locations, as well as online starting in early 2025.
Amanda’s passion for fashion and design has been evident throughout her time on Summer House. In Season 8, Episode 10, she opened up about her long-held desire to start her own brand.
“When I was younger, I had big dreams of being a fashion designer,” she explained in a confessional interview. “In high school, I took a fashion design class, but my inability to sew shut down those hopes and dreams. But I can design, and I know what I like, so it just seems like it’s time for me to maybe create my own thing.”
Amanda’s close friends and fellow cast members, Paige DeSorbo and Ciara Miller, have been vocal supporters of her creative endeavors. In the same episode, they encouraged Amanda to pursue her passion for fashion and recognized her potential as a successful entrepreneur.
“When I think of you, I see you as like running a company or, like, all these brands are like, ‘We gotta get Amanda Batula on this and see what her eye [is],'” Paige said. Ciara added that she envisioned Amanda “being the creative director of a brand.”
Despite her initial doubts about starting her own line, Amanda has found the courage to take the plunge. She admitted feeling overwhelmed at times, saying, “It’s like, ‘Where do I begin?’ and then I get overwhelmed, and I’m like, ‘You know what, that’s a dumb idea.'”
However, Paige was quick to offer reassurance, telling Amanda, “Anything you do, you’re gonna f-cking crush it.”
Amanda’s husband, Kyle Cooke, who she works alongside at his beverage company Loverboy, initially struggled with the idea of her starting a new business.
“[It] threw me for a loop,” Kyle admitted during the Summer House After Show. “I’m like, ‘What you’re talking about is starting another business, which is cool, but we don’t have any spare time for that right now.'”
Fortunately, it seems the couple has since found a balance, as Kyle showed his full support for Amanda’s new venture by commenting on her announcement post: “So happy[,] excited and proud!”
With her swimwear line set to launch soon, Amanda Batula is ready to dive into the world of fashion, and fans can’t wait to see what she has in store.
