’90 Day Fiance’ Star Michael Ilesanmi Launches GoFundMe to Fight Angela Deem In Divorce Court!
In a desperate bid to cover his mounting legal expenses, 90 Day Fiancé star Michael Ilesanmi has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help him battle estranged wife, Angela Deem, in divorce court.
Michael Ilesanmi, star of 90 Day Fiancé, is turning to his fans for assistance as he faces significant legal challenges related to his estranged wife, Angela Deem. On Tuesday, August 13, Michael, 37, took to Instagram to appeal for financial support, expressing the urgency of his situation.
“I could really use your help right now,” Michael wrote on his Instagram account, alongside photos of himself wearing a black shirt with “God Got Me” emblazoned across it. He continued, “I’m facing some unexpected legal expenses, and any support would mean the world to me.” In his post, Michael shared a link to a GoFundMe campaign, aiming to raise $25,000 to cover his legal fees.
The GoFundMe page provides additional context for Michael’s appeal, revealing that he has enlisted a lawyer following an annulment petition filed by Angela. Angela, 58, filed for annulment on June 20 in a Georgia court, accusing Michael of “fraudulently inducing” her into marriage “for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
She further alleged that Michael was part of a larger scheme involving other Nigerian men to deceive U.S. citizens into marriage for immigration benefits. Angela’s filing lists Michael’s last known address as her home in Hazlehurst, Georgia, but she claims he no longer resides there as of February 1 and that his whereabouts are unknown.
Michael, who has responded by retaining legal counsel, expressed the financial strain of his current predicament. “I am asking all my fans to help – whatever you can give I would deeply appreciate,” he stated in the GoFundMe description.
“I understand all of us are having hard times and I hate to ask others for money support but it seems like due to the legal actions brought against me I have to ask. Thank you all and God Bless.”
The plea for help has garnered a notable response from Michael’s supporters and fellow TLC cast members. Jasmine Pineda, who appeared alongside Michael in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8, commented, “Not as much as I would want to but I hope it helps!” Colt Johnson, another 90 Day Fiancé alum, also showed his support, writing, “I got you too, brother!”
Michael and Angela’s tumultuous relationship has been a focal point of the TLC franchise since their introduction in 2018. The couple, who have a 22-year age difference, married in Nigeria in 2020 after a prolonged visa approval process. Michael’s visa was finally approved in December 2023, and his relocation to the U.S. was featured on Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?.
Despite their marriage surviving numerous obstacles — including infidelity and financial issues—the relationship deteriorated dramatically when Michael was reported missing in February. He was found a few hours later and informed authorities that he had fled Angela’s home out of fear for his safety.
The ongoing legal battle and public disputes have further strained their relationship. Angela has been vocal about her belief that Michael used her primarily as a means to enter the U.S., and she has not shied away from expressing her discontent. Recently, she criticized one of Michael’s fans as “Team Scammer,” in a now-deleted Instagram post, reflecting the deepening rift between the former couple.
As Michael navigates this challenging period, he continues to seek assistance from his fan base, hoping that their support can help him manage the legal costs associated with his estranged wife’s annulment petition.
