‘RHODubai’ Star Chanel Ayan Reveals Lesa Milan Asked Her to DM Rihanna To Promote Her Clothing Line
Chanel Ayan has shed light on her falling out with former close friend Lesa Milan on The Real Housewives of Dubai.
According to Chanel, the rift began when she unsent a direct message to Rihanna at Lesa’s request, seeking the singer’s support for Lesa’s clothing line.
Previously, Chanel and Lesa appeared inseparable, making their feud all the more surprising to fans.
Speaking on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Chanel revealed that Rihanna was inadvertently pulled into the drama.
“The reality is Rihanna follows me [on Instagram], I do have a relationship with Rihanna,” Chanel shared. “Lesa asked me, ‘Do you mind if you reach out [for] Mina Roe for me?’” Chanel detailed that she contacted Rihanna to gauge her interest in wearing Lesa’s maternity line, Mina Roe.
Ayan admitted to sending the DM, but she had previously sought the “James Joint” singer advice for her own Ayan Beauty collection, which had not yet received a response.
“Everyone was like, ‘Ayan, you cannot ask her so much. You just met her,’” Chanel explained. She unsent the message before Rihanna could read it, concerned about overstepping boundaries.
Despite Chanel’s efforts to smooth things over, Lesa’s dissatisfaction with the unsent DM was only part of the issue. Both women cite a “very deep” incident at the season finale as a key factor in their falling out.
Chanel, however, remains hopeful for reconciliation. “She’s like family to me. You don’t throw your family away,” she said.
In contrast, Chanel has enjoyed a positive relationship with Rihanna, who has shown support for the Housewives franchise. “I’m obsessed with Rihanna, obsessed!” Chanel declared. “She comes a bit from the lifestyle I come from, and then she’s this successful, beautiful mogul.”
Chanel fondly recalled a past encounter with Rihanna, when the singer hired her to model for Fenty Beauty.
“When Rihanna came to Dubai for the first time to open Fenty Beauty, I was her model. So I met her and the first thing I said to her — and I have a video of it — I was like, ‘Girl, my son loves you, my son is 11 years old, wants to marry you, you’re so beautiful, you’re so stunning,’” Chanel reminisced.
“So when she followed me [after RHODubai premiered], I was just like, ‘Babes, we’ve met.’ She was like, ‘What?’ I sent her the video of me and Taj, me telling her about my son and she goes, ‘Oh my God, you really love your son.’ And I said, ‘Yes, he’s the love of my life.’”
