Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s newly launched sandwich shop, Something About Her, is facing scrutiny as speculation about its future intensifies.
The West Hollywood restaurant, which celebrated its grand opening in May 2024, has seen rumors of its potential closure circulate following recent staffing changes.
Ann Maddox, 42, who previously worked as Tom Sandoval’s personal assistant and now is employed at the sandwich shop, disclosed over the weekend that her working hours had been reduced.
Ann, who gained recognition from Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, had initially sought a position as Ariana’s personal assistant but ended up joining Something About Her.
In an Instagram Story, Ann addressed her reduced hours, expressing concern about her financial stability. “Well my hours got cut at the shop so I have no choice but to have this succeed,” she wrote. She also encouraged her followers to support her podcast, We Signed An NDA, for the American Reality Television Awards.
The announcement prompted speculation online about the shop’s viability. Comments on various threads raised questions about the shop’s business health and potential conflicts between Ann and her employers.
“Not SAH closing down already,” one user questioned, while another suggested there might have been an argument between Ann and her bosses.
“Ariana and Katie most likely won’t be happy with Ann saying this. This is a bad look for them. I feel bad for Ann but why put your bosses on blast like this?” one fan claims.

The shop’s path to opening was not without challenges. As reported by The U.S. Sun, Madix and Maloney faced several obstacles before finally launching the business. Although the sandwich shop concept was first mentioned in a January 2022 episode of Vanderpump Rules, it took over two years to materialize.
Ariana Madix, who has been occupied with other projects, including hosting Love Island USA and preparing to return to Broadway’s Chicago, has been less present at the shop. This has reportedly led to staff dissatisfaction over reduced customer interactions with Ariana.
Despite these hurdles, fans and customers will have to wait and see how the business navigates these early challenges.
