’90 Day Fiance’ Star Michael Ilesanmi Strikes Back After Angela Files for Divorce!
90 Day Fiancé star Michael Ilesanmi appears to be sending a pointed message following his estranged wife Angela Deem’s recent legal actions.
The Nigerian native shared a cryptic post on Instagram on August 9, seemingly addressing the ongoing drama between him and Deem. The post featured a carousel of photos of Michael standing confidently against a lush green backdrop, with the location tagged as simply the “United States.”
“People will notice the change in your attitude towards them,” Michael, 36, wrote in the caption. “But won’t notice their behavior that made you change.” His message seems to reflect the tumultuous events that have unfolded between the couple since their marriage.
Michael’s post garnered support from his 90 Day Fiancé co-star Kobe Blaise, who commented, “No human born of a woman can prevent the sun from shining its light across the earth. You are blessed my friend.”
The timing of Michael’s post comes amid significant developments in his relationship with Angela. On August 8, Angela, 58, filed for an annulment from Michael on June 20 in a Georgia court. According to the court documents, Angela cited their separation as a key reason for the annulment. The paperwork noted, “The parties have continuously lived in a state of separation for 30 days preceding this filing.”
Angela’s petition alleges that Michael “fraudulently induced” her into marriage to secure legal permanent resident status in the U.S. “After [Michael] abandoned [Angela], [Angela] discovered that [Michael] was engaged in a conspiracy with other Nigerian men to induce U.S. citizens into marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status,” the documents read. The filing also stated, “There are no minor children as issues of this marriage, and none are expected.”
Angela reported that Michael’s last known address was her home in Hazlehurst, Georgia, but he “no longer lives there.” The couple married on January 27, 2020, in Nigeria, but their relationship has faced numerous challenges.
Fans saw the escalating tension between Michael and Angela during the Season 8 tell-all of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Angela’s treatment of Michael, following his arrival in the U.S. in December 2023, was harsh, leading to further strain on their relationship. After the tell-all, Angela reported Michael missing on February 26. He was later found safe and had called authorities, stating he left due to fears for his safety.
Michael addressed his disappearance in a video posted a week later through Instagram blogger Kiki and Kibbitz’s account. “Hello, everyone, this is Michael. I just want to quickly let you know that I’m not on any social media platforms at the moment,” he said. “When the time is right, I’ll make an official announcement. Thank you, and God bless you.”
It wasn’t until July 25 that Michael opened up about his reasons for leaving Angela’s home. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Michael explained:
“The reason why I left Angie’s house is because — it’s very very sad — I wasn’t treated like I’m her husband.” He added, “I was treated like I’m just a nobody. Every day we fight.”
Michael described the difficulties he faced in his relationship with Angela before his disappearance, stating, “It had gotten to the point [where] I couldn’t just bear it anymore. I thought when I got here things would be better for us. But I was wrong, you know? Things got worse when I got here.”
