‘RHONJ’ Star Dolores Catania Denies She’s ‘Playing Both Sides’

Dolores Catania firmly addresses accusations of “playing both sides” during her recent television appearance.

Despite the brewing conflicts and alliances within the show, Dolores managed to navigate the turbulent waters of reality TV with a calm demeanor and a firm stance on neutrality.

Her role as a peacemaker, however, didn’t shield her from criticism or the complexities of friendships strained by rivalry, especially those involving long-time friend Teresa Giudice and Teresa’s adversary, Margaret Josephs.

Speaking candidly on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Sunday, August 4, Dolores revealed the challenges of her impartial position. “Are you kidding me? You have no idea,” she remarked about the backlash she receives from both sides of the conflict. Yet, she clarified her approach to conflict resolution: direct and upfront.

“Playing both sides of the fence is turning on one behind their back. I do nothing behind anybody’s back,” she insisted during the show, emphasizing her commitment to transparency and fairness.

Her strategy for maintaining peace isn’t about playing both sides, but rather about confronting issues head-on. “I try to keep the peace,” she stated, a tactic that has allowed her to remain serene amidst the often chaotic dynamics of the series.

In a previous discussion on “Jeff Lewis Live” in May, Catania addressed her co-stars’ frustrations with her neutrality. She explained that her ability to “sleep at night knowing I have never turned on anybody, and I’ve been a good friend to everyone,” is paramount.

Her stance is clear: those who take issue with her neutrality should address it directly. “So if they don’t like it, just tell me to my face, don’t stab me in my back, and speak to me about it,” she declared, expressing willingness to amicably part ways if necessary.

The tensions and resolutions from Season 14 are set to culminate in a unique reunion show titled “Off the Rails,” airing on Sunday, August 11, at 8/7c on Bravo. This special episode will feature the cast divided into two separate viewing rooms, reliving and reacting to the dramatic season finale dinner.

As RHONJ fans look forward to this special episode, they can expect Dolores Catania to continue her role as the steadfast mediator.
