Luis Ruelas Apologizes for his Controversial Comment About Margaret Josephs’ Son: ‘I was wrong’

Luis Ruelas has issued a public apology following backlash over his controversial remarks about Margaret Josephs’ son during the Season 14 finale of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey. The entrepreneur took to Instagram on Tuesday to address his comments, acknowledging they were “very tough” to reflect on.

“After watching the finale, I was disappointed in my actions in bringing up Margaret Josephs’ son,” Luis wrote. He clarified that his reference to Josephs’ son, who has never appeared on the show and maintains a low profile, stemmed from a misunderstanding.

Ruelas claimed he had been “falsely accused” of threatening Josephs‘ son during the last season’s reunion, which he said was “simply not true.”

“For the last year Margaret kept putting this narrative out there that I called her son at work and I have had to deal with it knowing I am being lied on,” Louis explained.

Despite this, Luis admitted his mistake, acknowledging that “bringing up someone’s child” was inappropriate. “It is something I deeply regret so I do want to apologize and acknowledge that I was wrong,” he said.

Ruelas also noted that his family has been deeply affected by the “toxicity on the show” and the actions of certain individuals, though he refrained from naming names. “Two wrongs don’t make a right and I deeply regret saying what I said,” he concluded.

The apology came after viewers reacted strongly to his remarks during the dramatic RHONJ finale, which aired on Sunday. In a heated conversation with Teresa, Luis had said, “Tell her to stay away from our family. And you know what? I hope Margaret and her family suffer. You know, I hope her f–king son suffers the way I suffered, the way other people in our family have suffered.”

He also called Josephs a “disgusting, vile human being” and a “real piece of garbage,” drawing criticism from fans who labeled his comments as “evil” and “gross.”

The ongoing feud between Giudice and Louis with Margaret dates back years, with the couple accusing Josephs of meeting with one of Ruelas‘ exes to spread negative information about him. Margaret has denied leaking any information but admitted to messaging Ruelas’ ex.

During the finale, Margaret revealed that Jackie Goldschneider was the first cast member to speak with the unnamed ex in early 2021.

Despite this revelation, Teresa remained focused on Josephs, showing little concern for Jackie’s involvement. The season ended with the cast in disarray, and Andy Cohen has confirmed a reboot of the show is underway.
