Julie Chrisley BEGS Judge To Skip Court Appearance — Claims ‘Physical Hardship’ If Forced To Show Up!

Julie Chrisley is seeking to avoid an in-person appearance at her upcoming resentencing hearing, citing “undue physical hardship,” as the primary reason. Julie Chrisley’s request was outlined in a motion to the federal court, as obtained by In Touch.

Julie, who is currently serving a seven-year sentence at a federal prison in Lexington, Kentucky, has petitioned for permission to attend her September 25 resentencing via videoconference. This appeal comes in the wake of a recent decision by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, which upheld her and her husband Todd’s convictions for bank fraud and tax evasion but vacated Julie’s sentence due to insufficient evidence linking her to crimes prior to 2007.

In her plea to the court, Julie described the logistical challenges and physical strain of transferring from Lexington to the court in Georgia, where the hearing is set to take place. Her legal team highlighted that the process would likely involve a transfer via Oklahoma City or a grueling, shackled van ride spanning several hours. “Either option would remove Ms. Chrisley from FMC Lexington for an unnecessarily extended period of time and impose undue physical hardship on her,” the motion read.

The proposal for a videoconference appearance seems to be unopposed by prosecutors, according to Julie’s legal representatives. The decision now rests with the presiding judge, who has yet to issue a ruling on this request.

The legal troubles for the Chrisley family extend beyond Julie and Todd’s criminal convictions. They are currently embroiled in a civil lawsuit related to an automobile accident involving their son Grayson Chrisley in November 2022. The plaintiff, Patrick Rykwalder, accuses Grayson of negligence on the day of the accident, which resulted in a collision that sent Grayson to the hospital briefly. The Chrisleys have denied all allegations of wrongdoing in the matter, which remains pending before the court.

Amid these tumultuous legal battles, the Chrisley family has found some solace in the appellate court’s recent decision regarding Julie’s sentencing. Savannah Chrisley, daughter of Todd and Julie, expressed relief and renewed hope on her podcast.

“I am beyond relieved that the court recognized the mistakes made in my mother’s sentencing,” she shared with her listeners. “We’ve been fighting so hard for this, and it gives us hope for a fairer outcome moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Todd’s estranged son Kyle, who has been out of contact with his father for over a year, reacted to the developments with mixed feelings.

“I’m happy for Julie but it’s really unfortunate that the court found the previous ruling on everything else valid,” Kyle stated, hinting at potential further appeals. “I’m hoping the next step for my dad is the Supreme Court of Appeals.”

As the Chrisleys navigate through their legal challenges, the family continues to garner significant public and media attention, highlighting the complexities and personal toll of their high-profile legal entanglements.
