Jennifer Tilly Compares Joining ‘RHOBH’ to Working with Martin Scorsese
Jennifer Tilly is set to bring her star power to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a “friend” for Season 14, marking a significant milestone in her career.
The 65-year-old actress, known for her roles in Bride of Chucky and Bound, expressed her enthusiasm about joining the Bravo reality series.
In an interview with Vulture on August 5, Jennifer shared her excitement, stating, “I never thought I’d be on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. To me, it’s like working with Martin Scorsese.”
Tilly revealed just how much this role means to her by comparing it to a major life milestone. “I was more excited to meet Kyle Richards and Erika [Jayne] and the other ladies than I was when I met Elizabeth Taylor,” she confessed.
Jennifer’s enthusiasm extends beyond the show, humorously likening her new role to “experiencing zero gravity,” a reference to her boyfriend’s space aspirations.
Despite previous refusals to join the show, Tilly decided to embrace new challenges this year.
“They’ve been asking me if I want to be on the show, and I’ve always said, ‘No. No.’ This year, I sort of thought, I just want to do everything different,” Jennifer explained.
Tilly is one of two new additions for the upcoming season, alongside Bozoma Saint John.
The cast will also feature familiar faces like Sutton Stracke, Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, and Garcelle Beauvais. Kathy Hilton will return as a “friend,” while Crystal Kung Minkoff and Annemarie Wiley will not be returning.
Jennifer recently joked about the new role during an appearance on the It Happened in Hollywood podcast, saying, “I’m not a Housewife. I’m a Friend, though, which is a lot easier. You just dip in and out. You try to avoid, like, flying shrapnel. And you know, if drinks are thrown, I have good reflexes.”
Garcelle Beauvais also teased the drama of the upcoming season, telling Us Weekly in July, “Let me tell you, the pot is stirred in so many different directions. It’s not just one person.”
She expressed her excitement about the new additions, noting, “I’m excited for people to meet Boze and Jennifer Tilly, who brings a really cool vibe. And, of course, Kathy. I think it’s going to be a really strong season.”
