Dolores Catania Explains Why She Was ‘Furious’ with Margaret Josephs on ‘RHONJ’s Explosive Finale
In a dramatic turn on the Season 14 finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dolores Catania, known for her typically neutral stance, confronted her longtime friend Margaret Josephs over a contentious issue.
The heated exchange unfolded at Margaret’s home, prior to the notorious final dinner at Rails Steakhouse. During their conversation, Margaret alleged that she had invited Dolores to a pre-reunion gathering at her house, which included Melissa and Joe Gorga, Jackie Goldschneider, Rachel and John Fuda, and Jennifer and Jeff Fessler.
Dolores, however, vehemently denied receiving such an invitation. She discussed her frustration in an appearance on the August 4 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“For me, it’s like my integrity there, you know?” Catania told host Andy Cohen. “Because she was saying something that didn’t happen, and it was blatantly making me so furious.” Dolores clarified that her anger stemmed from Josephs’ false claim rather than concerns about appearing disloyal. “It wasn’t so much about, ‘Oh, it makes me look like a bad friend,'” she said. “But, it just wasn’t true.”
When Dolores arrived at Margaret’s house on RHONJ Season 14, Episode 13, the discussion shifted to a meeting hosted by Teresa Giudice with her lawyer, James Leonard. Catania compared this to Josephs’ alleged pre-reunion gathering, prompting an irate response from Margaret.
“There wasn’t a summit. That’s called doing a reunion review,” Margaret asserted. “Is that called a summit?”
Dolores fired back, “Well, thanks for not inviting me to that one.”
Margaret insisted that she had invited Dolores, saying, “I did. I told you to come.”
“You f-cking never said that to me!” Dolores retorted. Josephs claimed she had called Dolores “two days before the reunion” to extend the invitation.
“You f-cking never had that conversation with me…. Never had it,” Catania continued, swearing “on [her] kids” that the invitation never took place.
