Fans SLAM Luis Ruelas for Wishing That Margaret Josephs’ Son ‘Suffers’
In a dramatic turn of events on the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 finale, Luis “Louie” Ruelas sparked outrage with a contentious remark directed at Margaret Josephs’ family.
During a heated exchange with his wife, Teresa Giudice, Louie voiced his wish for Margaret and her family to “suffer,” a comment that has since ignited a storm of criticism from viewers.
The scene unfolded just before Teresa’s explosive “Last Supper” with her co-stars, where tensions were already running high. The drama reached a boiling point when Giudice accused Josephs of contacting one of Ruelas’ ex-partners and spreading negative rumors about him.
In response, Luis expressed his frustration, saying, “Tell her to stay away from our family. And you know what? I hope Margaret and her family suffer. You know, I hope her f–king son suffers the way I suffered, the way other people in our family have suffered.”
Luis, 49, did not hold back, labeling Margaret, 57, as a “disgusting, vile human being.” Teresa, 52, concurred, adding that their own children had been impacted by Josephs’ alleged actions.
“She’s here to take advantage of everything that’s going on, and she’s a real piece of garbage. If Margaret doesn’t apologize to you, she’s not even worth you even sitting in front of her, Teresa,” Ruelas said.
The comments did not go unnoticed. On social media, viewers quickly condemned Luis for his “cruel” and “disturbing” remarks. One user on X (formerly Twitter) criticized, “Luis is evil for saying that. It’s not that deep.”
Another added, “Luis isn’t a good person. Wishing that Margaret’s son and her family should suffer is weird!” The backlash continued with calls for Ruelas to “just stop” and remarks about him taking things too far.
In addition to the criticism directed at Luis, Teresa faced her own share of negative reactions for targeting Margaret’ husband, Joe Benigno. During the same episode, Giudice disparaged Benigno’s profession, calling him a “f–king plumber,” which drew further ire from the “Housewives” fans.
“Teresa’s comment about Joe being a plumber was totally out of line. Being a plumber is a respectable profession, and it’s not okay to belittle someone for their job,” one stated.
“Teresa really crossed a line with her plumber comment. There’s nothing wrong with Joe Benigno’s profession, and it’s pretty low to insult someone for their job,” another fan wrote.
The ongoing feud between Teresa and Louis with Margaret dates back several years. The conflict escalated after claims that Josephs had sought out information from Ruelas’ ex to discredit him.
However, in a twist revealed during the finale, Josephs disclosed that Jackie Goldschneider was the first cast member to speak with Luis’ ex, shifting the focus of the blame. Despite this revelation, Giudice’s discontent with Margaret remained evident, and she seemed unfazed by Jackie’s involvement.
As the season concludes, the RHONJ cast faces an uncertain future. Due to the tumultuous nature of the season and the aftermath of the “Last Supper,” a traditional reunion special was not filmed.
Instead, Bravo will air a one-off special featuring the cast in two separate groups, set to premiere next Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
