During a heartfelt appearance on the July 31 episode of Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star discussed her efforts to mend familial bonds and shared the advice she imparts to her daughters about maintaining unity.

“First of all, to me, family is so sacred. Like, I’m all about The Godfather  movie — you never go against the family,” Teresa said, reflecting on the importance she places on family loyalty. ‘

“I live by that, like I stand by that, like I’m a loyal person,” she elaborates.

The family’s dynamic has been strained since the passing of Teresa and Joe’s parents, Antonia and Giacinto Gorga.

Teresa lamented that their difficult relationship has been a source of pain for her, particularly in light of their public disputes.

“It would have been so beautiful for us to be a united front, and to show America and to show the world that instead of fighting,” Teresa said, referring to their fallout in Season 13 of the show. “Like, to me, this is disgraceful.”

In response to this turmoil, Teresa has made a concerted effort to guide her daughters—Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana—in maintaining close bonds.

“I tell my daughters, I beg my daughters, I’m like, ‘Please always get along. That’s the only thing I only ask for, is I want [you] four to always love each other, and if somebody has something more than the other, you guys enjoy it… You should all be happy for each other, and lift each other up,'” Teresa continued on Kelly’s podcast. “That’s how I look at things.”

On the July 28 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Melissa Gorga also addressed the situation, revealing her stance on the strained relationship with Teresa and her husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas.

“I don’t feel the pressure anymore to kinda accept things I didn’t feel were right, or to keep moving forward with something that was at a complete dead end,” Melissa shared.
