Ariana Madix Gushes Over Boyfriend Daniel Wai: ‘My Favorite Smile’

Ariana Madix is eagerly anticipating a romantic reunion with her boyfriend, Daniel Wai, a New York City-based fitness trainer whom she started dating in 2023.

The Vanderpump Rules star expressed her excitement on Instagram this Monday, sharing a scenic beachside photo of Daniel with a caption that read, “So close to getting to see my favorite smile in the whole world,” accompanied by a smiling face with hearts emoji.

The post, set to Kaytranada’s “Lover/Friend” instrumental, quickly captured the hearts of her followers.

Wai responded with equal affection on his Instagram, resharing Madix’s post with the caption: “Yey I see you later today!!!” This exchange comes after Ariana’s stint as the host of “Love Island USA Season 6,” which took her to the South Pacific for nearly two months.

Prior to her departure, the couple managed to enjoy a brief getaway to Fiji, sharing their adventures of hiking, boating, and relaxing under the sun on social media.

The reunion is timed perfectly as Ariana prepares to return to Broadway, where she will reprise her role as Roxie Hart in the musical “Chicago” from August 1-27.

She first took on the role in early 2024 and has since expressed her profound passion for the experience. “Chicago on Broadway is going amazingly. I love it so much,” Ariana shared in a March interview with BravoTV.com. “Yeah, it’s my favorite thing ever. I’m obsessed with it, and I’m gonna chain myself to the building and never leave.”

Madix also reflected on the challenges of balancing her Broadway commitments with the demands of reality TV. “Oh my gosh, performing on Broadway… is like apples and oranges to filming ‘Vanderpump Rules,'” she noted. Each presents its unique set of challenges, making it hard to compare which is more difficult.

Her role announcement came less than a year after a highly publicized breakup with fellow VPR castmate, Tom Sandoval.

Following the split, Madix met Daniel at a friend’s wedding in Mexico, and despite the instant connection, she took her time before diving into a new relationship.

This decision, however, did not stop some of her castmates from worrying if she was moving on too quickly.

Scheana Shay voiced her concerns on the “Vanderpump Rules After Show,” questioning whether Ariana had allowed herself enough time to heal from her previous relationship.

“So it had only been a matter of weeks,” Shay remarked, concerned about the emotional impact if the new relationship did not last.

Madix, confident in her resilience, addressed these concerns by emphasizing her ability to handle whatever comes her way. “Here’s the thing, he could literally turn out to be, which he’s not, a f-cking con artist,” she stated. “And guess what? I’ll be fine. I’ll take care of myself regardless.”
