Phaedra Parks Returns To ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ After Bravo FIRED Kandi Burruss!

Phaedra Parks is reclaiming her role on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a full-time cast member, confirming her return with a peach in hand for the upcoming 16th season. This announcement arrives nearly a month after Kenya Moore’s departure from the show under dramatic circumstances.

On July 29, Phaedra and Bravo shared the exciting news on their respective Instagram accounts, posting a photo of the Atlanta attorney holding a peach, signaling her official comeback to the series that skyrocketed her to fame. “You called, I answered,” she captioned, signaling her readiness to dive back into the Atlanta social scene.

Her return is particularly noteworthy given the recent shake-up in the cast, including the exit of Kenya, who was allegedly let go after a controversial incident involving the exposure of explicit images of newcomer Brittany Eady.

The departure of Kenya, a former Miss USA, followed a heated situation where she was accused of retaliating against Eady by sharing explicit photos during the filming of the show’s new season. An insider claimed that the incident was sparked by a threat from Eady involving a “gun,” a claim later contested by sources close to the production who insisted no weapon was ever involved. This led to an investigation by Bravo, which ultimately resulted in Kenya’s removal from the series.

Kenya, who had been a dynamic presence on the show, expressed her gratitude to her supporters following her departure. “You are the best fans anyone could ever ask for, and I love you all so very much,” she posted on Instagram, marking her exit. Fans had been looking forward to her dynamic with longtime rival Porsha Williams, who is also making a return this season after a hiatus. Instead, the spotlight will now shift to the renewed interaction between Porsha and Phaedra, rekindling their once iconic “frick and frack” dynamic.

Despite Phaedra’s previous assertions that she had no interest in returning to the reality series — famously telling Entertainment Tonight in July 2022, “I’ve made it very clear, that’s not what I want to do” — her comeback suggests a change of heart. Known for her memorable quips and no-nonsense attitude, Phaedra left the show amidst controversy in Season 9 after being embroiled in a scandal involving serious allegations against fellow cast member Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker.

Since her departure, Phaedra has not been far from the television screens, appearing in Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition and making a notable appearance on Peacock’s Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club. Her participation in the latter seemed to pave the way for her return, with fans lauding her performance and charisma.

Joining Phaedra and Porsha for Season 16 are several new and returning faces, including Brittany Eady, restaurateur and Food Network alum Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley, alongside returning housewife Drew Sidora. Shereé Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross have all departed, alongside Kandi Burruss who chose to step back from the show to focus on other endeavors.
