‘Welcome to Plathville’ Star Olivia Plath Claims She Was ‘NOT SAFE’ During Her Marriage to Ethan Plath!

Welcome to Plathville star Olivia Plath revealed that she felt increasingly unsafe as her marriage with Ethan Plath came to a close.

Olivia Plath opened up about the end of her marriage to estranged husband Ethan Plath, revealing that she “didn’t feel safe” as their relationship unraveled.

During the episode that aired on Tuesday, July 23, Olivia, 26, spoke candidly with her sister Lydia Grace about the final stages of her marriage.

“The day we both said we were no longer in the relationship, we were divorced [in my mind],” Olivia explained. “[We were] moving on separately.”

Reflecting on the breakdown of her marriage, Olivia expressed that she gave it her all before making the decision to part ways.

“I gave my marriage everything I had,” she said. “I have zero doubts about whether I fought hard enough for it or not.” In a confessional, Olivia elaborated, “I think I stayed way past the expiration date.”

Now that she has had some time away from Ethan, Olivia feels more certain that she made the right choice.

“Now being on my own and feeling like my life is so much more peaceful, it makes me realize how chaotic and dysfunctional that was. And I don’t miss that,” she admitted. “Maybe someday I’ll separate it all in my mind. But for right now he’s part of that.”

Adding to her sense of relief, Olivia described her past situation as one where “my whole world didn’t feel safe.”

The episode also featured a tense interaction between Olivia and Ethan, 26, where they discussed their ongoing divorce. Ethan struggled with accepting their separation, and Olivia emphasized the necessity of finalizing their paperwork to allow them both to move on as single individuals. Despite Ethan’s reluctance, he expressed a desire to reconsider their split.

“Being back around Ethan makes me emotional because he’s not doing well at all,” Olivia shared in a confessional. “But I know that Ethan and I are not getting back together. I’ve moved on, I’m done, and I feel like Ethan’s indecision confirms my decision because the inconsistency that he’s showing in what he says he wants, what he does, how he changes his mind.”

Ethan proposed putting their divorce on hold to explore the possibility of working through their issues, but Olivia was resolute in her decision to end their marriage.

Olivia and Ethan initially announced their separation in October 2023 after five years of marriage. At the time, Olivia shared her thoughts on social media, saying,

“Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways. I have ambivalent memories of us being 18 years old, innocently dreaming of forever – but the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live in, and at 18 I didn’t know who I was or what kind of life I wanted to create for myself. Seven years later, I’ve already begun my journey of questioning, deconstructing and rebuilding and I know that is a process that I will continue to prioritize throughout my life.”

The couple filed for divorce in February 2024, citing an “irretrievable breakdown” of their marriage. They listed their date of separation as February 25, 2023. Despite filing the paperwork, In Touch exclusively reported that their divorce was “closed administratively” on April 26, 2024. Although the specific reasons for this closure remain unclear, it is believed that the issue may have been due to clerical errors, and they still plan to finalize their divorce.
