Apollo Nida Arrested for Domestic Violence After Assaulting His Wife!

Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, Apollo Nida, and the ex-husband of Phaedra Parks, has been arrested on charges of domestic violence.

The arrest comes after his wife, Sherien Almufti, accused him of physically assaulting her, as revealed exclusively by In Touch.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Sherien, who is also known by her maiden name Sherien Copes, called the police on March 11 after an alleged altercation with Apollo, 45. The incident reportedly began after Sherien returned home from a bar where she had been with friends and had consumed three alcoholic drinks.

During their argument, Sherien claims Apollo showed her a video of her kissing another man, which escalated the dispute. The police report details Sherien’s allegations that Apollo “pulled her by the hair and pushed her against a refrigerator.” She described the confrontation as a “shuffle” before she managed to run outside and call for help.

Sherien noted that when she returned inside to retrieve her phone, Apollo had already left the scene. Despite her accusations, the physical altercation was not captured on any video footage available to the authorities. When Apollo later arrived at the home, he spoke with officers and provided his account of the events.

Apollo admitted to attempting to take Sherien’s phone during their argument. He claimed that Sherien fell to the ground to protect her phone and that he ultimately took it. According to Apollo, he followed her outside to return the phone after she called for help. Officers noted that Sherien declined medical attention at the scene and did not display any visible marks or bruises indicative of physical violence.

Following his arrest, Apollo was charged with domestic violence and simple assault. He was processed at the local jail but posted a $3,000 bond shortly after and was released. The legal proceedings continued as prosecutors filed a misdemeanor charge of simple battery — family violence against him last month.

The court documents state: “I, Keith E. Gammage, Solicitor General for the County of Fulton, State of Georgia, in the name and on behalf of the citizens of Georgia, do hereby charge and accuse APOLLO EDWARD NIDA with the offense of SIMPLE BATTERY – FAMILY VIOLENCE, a misdemeanor, for that said accused in the County of Fulton, State of Georgia, on or about March 11, 2024 did intentionally make physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature with the person of Sherien Copes, who is the present spouse of the accused, by pulling her by the hair and pushing her.”

“It was a huge blowout between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then. We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.”

In a separate development, Apollo has been dealing with ongoing legal issues. Last year, he sought an early termination of his probation related to a 2014 federal criminal case. Apollo had been sentenced to eight years in prison for bank fraud and identity theft but had faced up to 30 years before reaching a plea deal.

After his release in 2019, he was sentenced to an additional five years of probation. His request to end his probation early was opposed by prosecutors and ultimately denied by the judge.

As reported, Phaedra Parks, who divorced Apollo while he was imprisoned, is currently in discussions about a possible return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
