Autumn Crittendon: A Life Cut Short

Autumn Crittendon, who appeared on Season 5 of 16 and Pregnant in 2014, passed away in July 2024 at the age of 27. Police and paramedics were called to a home in Henrico, Virginia, on July 20, where they found Crittendon unresponsive. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of her death is currently under investigation by local authorities. Known also by her married name, Autumn Oxley, she gave birth to a son named Drake during her appearance on the show and went on to have two more children.

Sean Garinger: Tragic ATV Accident

Sean Garinger, featured on 16 and Pregnant in 2021 alongside his then-girlfriend Selena Gutierrez, tragically died in February 2024. Garinger, 20, suffered fatal injuries in an ATV accident at his home in Boone, North Carolina.

According to his mother, Mary Hobbs, the accident occurred when “the ground gave way from all the rain and mud,” causing the vehicle to flip. The cause of death was reported as blunt force trauma to the head. Garinger left behind his mother, two daughters, and several siblings. At the time of his death, he and Gutierrez were no longer together.

Jordan Cashmyer: Struggles and Tragedy

Jordan Cashmyer, who appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2014 with her boyfriend Derek Taylor, died in January 2022 at the age of 26. Her death was due to fentanyl and cocaine intoxication.

Cashmyer’s storyline on the show showcased her complicated family dynamics and her challenges with homelessness and unemployment. She welcomed a daughter named Genevieve during her appearance on the show.

Valerie Fairman: A Troubled Life

Valerie Fairman, who appeared on Season 2 of 16 and Pregnant, died in December 2016 at the age of 23 from an apparent drug overdose.

Fairman, who had a troubled life after her reality TV debut, faced numerous legal issues including arrests for assaulting her adoptive mother, prostitution, and resisting arrest. Her struggles were well-documented following her appearance on the show, which featured the birth of her daughter, Nevaeh.

Derek Underwood: A Life Remembered

Derek Underwood, though not a 16 and Pregnant participant himself, is remembered as the father of Farrah Abraham’s daughter, Sophia. Underwood died in a car accident in 2008.

Farrah, who was pregnant with their child at the time of his death, went on to feature prominently in 16 and Pregnant and its spinoff, Teen Mom. She gave birth to Sophia two months after Underwood’s death and continued to share her journey on television.
