Teen Mom’s Kailyn Lowry Buys 20 Acres of Land in Delaware

Kailyn Lowry has big plans for her future! The Teen Mom star took to TikTok on July 19 to announce that she has just closed on a substantial 20-acre plot of land.

“I am closing on 20 acres of land today,” the 32-year-old reality star shared in an excited video. “They were finally able to do the site evaluation at the end of May.”

The site evaluation, Kailyn explained, was crucial in determining whether the land was suitable for building. It assessed the property for any wetlands and advised on the type of sewage system needed — either a septic or mound system—based on the land’s characteristics.

“If the evaluation results show that the land is buildable, it also advises the property owner on what type of sewage system the house can run off of,” Kailyn detailed.

With the evaluation completed, Kailyn is now focused on her ambitious plans for the property. “The plan right now is to build an eight-bedroom house somehow,” she said. “The last time I bought land, we built in the same year. This one is going to take a little longer.” She noted that despite her previous experience with land purchases, this project would be more complex and time-consuming.

Kailyn encountered some initial hurdles with her first architect, leading her to switch to a new one who brings additional resources to the table. The new architect’s firm includes an in-house building division, which Kailyn hopes will streamline the process. The Pennsylvania native acknowledged, however, that the house won’t be ready for a few years yet. “The house wouldn’t be complete until 2026 or possibly 2027,” she noted.

When it comes to her dream home, Kailyn has specific features in mind. She envisions a first-floor master bedroom, oversized hallways, a large garage, and both an upstairs and downstairs laundry room. She also plans to include a barn, although she clarified that it won’t be a full-scale farm. “I don’t have any plans to have, like, a huge, real farm,” she said. “I just kind of like our animals that we have now, and then if we get, like, a highland cow or something like that would be the extent of it. Right now, I’m not planning on getting horses or anything like that.”

The day of the closing was a family affair. In a follow-up TikTok video, Kailyn shared a snapshot of the closing ceremony, with her son Lincoln by her side. The property broker even gave Lincoln a “golden shovel” to mark the occasion, symbolizing the first dig on their new property. When asked what he hoped to see in the new home, Lincoln, 10, excitedly requested, “A soccer field.”

Kailyn and her children had moved into their previous home in early 2022, and she has reflected on her progress since then. “My biggest accomplishment [of 2021 was] building my house,” she told In Touch on December 29, 2021. “It’s definitely been something that I wanted to do and never did. And then I finally did it.” The former “Marriage Boot Camp” star documented the entire building process on social media, sharing her excitement and overcoming various challenges along the way.

As Kailyn embarks on this new chapter with her expansive property, she remains optimistic and enthusiastic about creating a new family home that will meet her and her children’s needs for years to come.
