Brittany Cartwright Faces $35K State Tax Lien on Former $1.9M Los Angeles Home!
Brittany Cartwright faces financial challenges amidst her separation from Jax Taylor, as she deals with a significant state tax lien on their former home.
According to documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the California Franchise Tax Board has placed a $35,239.88 lien on the couple’s $1.9 million Valley Village residence.
This development adds to the complexities of their split, which began earlier this year after nearly five years of marriage.
The Vanderpump Rules alum, 35, who continues to reside in an Airbnb following their separation, has been vocal about the financial arrangements since parting ways with Jax, 45.
In April, she disclosed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she’s covering household expenses while Taylor handles the mortgage payments.
“We have everything split up,” Brittany shared, elaborating on their co-parenting dynamics and the financial responsibilities she shoulders, including their son Cruz’s school fees and insurance.
Their former marital home, where they moved in shortly before their 2019 wedding, holds sentimental value for the couple, situated close to fellow Vanderpump Rules cast members Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, and Ariana Madix.
Since their separation announcement earlier this year, both Cartwright and Taylor have been navigating their new reality.
Jax recently expressed missing his family and emphasized their current status as separated while they work through their relationship dynamics.
Reflecting on the challenges in their marriage, Cartwright revealed to DailyMail.com that becoming a mother to Cruz in 2021 prompted her to reassess her priorities and what she envisioned for her future.
“For me, it was just kind of like taking up for myself. Having a child really woke me up and lifted a veil a little bit of what I deserve and what I am going to put up with for the rest of my life,” Brittany explaned.
She acknowledged a shift in their relationship dynamics, with her career flourishing while Jax faced different professional trajectories.
Despite enduring ups and downs, including Jax’s past infidelity revelations and subsequent reconciliation, Brittany emphasized the importance of creating a positive environment for her son amid their separation.
The couple, who married in a lavish Kentucky ceremony and welcomed Cruz in 2021, currently stars in the Vanderpump Rules spin-off series, The Valley, documenting their experiences navigating married life and parenthood in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.
