On Thursday, Tom used Instagram to clarify his actions to his followers, explaining that his decision followed a rethink of the lawsuit’s implications which he initially did not fully grasp.

“Late Tuesday morning, my attorney Matt Geragos, whose advice I trusted, called be about the Cross-Complaint in the lawsuit against myself and Ariana,” Sandoval detailed in his post.

He shared that Matt had described the action as a standard, protective measure in such legal disputes, which led him to agree to it.

However, Tom later realized that the terms “new lawsuit” and “suing” had not been clearly explained during their discussions.

“I should’ve done more of my due diligence on the matter,” he confessed on his now-reactivated Instagram account, concluding that it led to his decision to terminate Geragos’s services. “Upon realizing what this action actually means, I have removed Matt Geragos from my legal team.”

He also sought to clear the air regarding his intentions towards Ariana Madix, emphasizing, “In no way am I suing Ariana. The action against Ariana brought on my behalf is being removed. I hold no ill will or vindictiveness toward Ariana.”

Sandoval expressed his hope that by removing the Cross-Complaint and changing his legal representation, the proceedings could be resolved swiftly, allowing all parties to move forward.

This legal drama traces back to a tumultuous period in Tom’s personal life, which became public in March 2023 when Madix discovered he had been unfaithful with their former co-star, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.

This discovery was made after Ariana encountered an intimate FaceTime video on his phone, which Leviss subsequently claimed was recorded without her consent.

The fallout continued to unravel nearly a year later when Leviss launched a revenge porn lawsuit against both Madix and Sandoval, alleging that Ariana had sent herself the explicit video.

In response, Tom’s now-fired lawyer had initially defended the lawsuit as merely a “cross complaint” essential for assigning liability fairly among the parties involved.

Despite the legal intricacies, Sandoval’s latest move signals a shift in his approach to the dispute, seeking a resolution that minimizes further conflict.

His former attorney, before being dismissed, had stated, “This customary legal action was crucial to ensure that liability, if any, is fairly distributed based on the actual level of involvement and fault of each party. We aim to resolve this legal dispute with utmost respect towards all parties involved.”
