Aurora Culpo Reveals Paul Bernon Ended Their Relationship: ‘He Dumped Me’
Aurora Culpo has recently opened up about her brief romance with Paul Bernon, revealing on her “Barely Filtered” podcast that he ended their relationship just after her sister Olivia Culpo referred to him as her “flavor of the month.”
“The next day, he called me and said ‘It’s not working,’” Aurora shared during Wednesday’s podcast episode, adding a touch of humor to her disappointment, “He was not the flavor of the month. He was the flavor of two months. I would have preferred it to go longer, but unfortunately, he dumped me.”
This revelation came after Olivia’s playful comment during the July 3 episode of the same podcast, which was recorded before her wedding to NFL star Christian McCaffrey. Paul did not attend the wedding.
At 35, Aurora expressed regret over the quick fizzling of their romance, noting differences and future desires as contributing factors. “There were things, like, he doesn’t want any more kids [and] I probably do want more kids,” she mentioned.
Culpo, who has two young children from her previous marriage to Michael Bortone, also pointed out the mismatch in their communication styles, “I’m not someone who can give space when someone feels hurt. Like, I need to talk about things right away.”
Despite the split, Aurora retains high regard for Bernon, describing him as a “nice guy,” “sweet,” “generous,” and “a great dad.”
She clarified, “Just because we can’t be together doesn’t mean that I’m mad at him or doesn’t mean that I don’t still think he is an amazing person, because he is.”
The decision for Bernon not to attend Olivia’s wedding was mutual, attributed to the novelty of their relationship and logistics involving Aurora’s children.
“Paul and I had decided that he wasn’t going to come to the wedding because it was new,” Aurora explained.
She added that the presence of paparazzi during a family beach day ahead of the wedding, which led to speculative headlines about Bernon, only added to the strain.
Previously engaged to former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel, Paul and Bethenny parted ways several months ago, though news of their split only surfaced recently.
This turn of events in Aurora’s personal life unfolds as she continues to navigate her public persona and responsibilities as a mother.
