Hannah Berner Reveals Promoting for Another Company Contributed to ‘Summer House’ Exit

Hannah Berner has opened up about her departure from Summer House in 2021, suggesting that a promotional deal with Truly Hard Seltzer, a competitor of co-star Kyle Cooke’s Loverboy brand, sparked tensions that led to her exit.

Hannah discussed the controversy on Dave Portnoy’s “BFFs” podcast, where the Barstool Sports founder inquired if her promotional work for Truly was the reason behind her being let go from the Bravo series.

“The truth is beef started ’cause I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” Berner explained, clarifying that it wasn’t Bravo who fired her but rather the displeasure it caused among the cast.

“Some people on the cast got annoyed at [me], and then it kind of snowballed,” she added.

During the podcast, Dave probed whether the issue was linked to Kyle’s involvement in the hard seltzer market. Hannah acknowledged, “Yeah, that was a big storyline on the show. I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks.”

Reflecting on the dynamics of reality TV, Berner noted, “I think some of these shows become a lot of egos, and it’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that.’ And there’s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons.”

However, a source close to the situation has reportedly dismissed Hannah’s claims as “completely false and ridiculous,” according to Page Six.

Contrary to her recent statements, Berner initially told her Instagram followers that she was leaving Summer House to focus on her burgeoning comedy career.

“This past year has been one of the most important in my life for self-reflection, love, and learning a lot of s–t,” she shared in May 2021, highlighting new career ventures and personal growth.
