Tamra Judge and ‘RHOC’ Co-Stars Say Shannon Beador Needs REHAB ASAP After Wild DUI Arrest!
Tamra Judge and ‘RHOC’ Co-Stars Say Shannon Beador Needs REHAB ASAP After Wild DUI Arrest!
Veteran Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge has joined fellow cast members in expressing concern over Shannon Beador’s handling of her issues with alcohol, following Shannon’s DUI arrest in September 2023.
Speaking to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Tamra openly shared her belief that Shannon should consider rehab to address her drinking habits.
“I do think she needs to go to rehab,” Tamra stated, aligning her views with those of castmates Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter, who voiced similar concerns in the season 18 premiere. However, Tamra emphasized the importance of personal commitment to recovery, saying, “But I do think that she needs to acknowledge the fact that she needs to go to rehab. She can’t just go because people are telling her to go. She has to go because she wants to stop drinking.”
Despite their past friendship, Tamra and Shannon, 60, have found themselves at odds, particularly over Shannon’s drinking behavior, which was a central issue during the filming of the upcoming Real Housewives of Orange County season. Their disputes were notably fueled by an incident last year when Shannon crashed her vehicle into a building in Newport Beach, California.
In a recent episode, Shannon discussed with Emily her new self-imposed limit of two drinks per outing — a measure Tamra criticizes as insufficient. “You can’t [be] somebody that has a drinking problem and say, ‘Well, I’ll just have two,'” Tamra remarked, questioning the effectiveness of such limits for someone struggling with alcohol.
Shannon, on her part, defended her approach in an interview with E! News, challenging Tamra’s involvement and right to critique her lifestyle choices. “She has had no part of anything that I have done since my DUI. None. In fact, she left town the day after my DUI,” Shannon recounted. She expressed frustration with Tamra, stating, “Who made you the judge and jury of what I should and shouldn’t be doing in my life? Focus on yours, because I’m focusing on mine.”
Despite the tension, Shannon Beador had previously acknowledged Tamra’s support during BravoCon 2023, two months post-arrest. She recalled Tamra’s reluctance to leave for Scotland to film “The Traitors” Season 2, appreciating her and Vicki Gunvalson’s support during that difficult period. “Tamra was leaving for ‘The Traitors’ on the day that my DUI became public and she didn’t even wanna go… and then I ended up going to stay with Vicki and she took care of me. So these are true friends and that’s what life is all about,” Shannon shared with US Weekly.
Looking forward, Tamra remains cautiously optimistic about reconciling with Shannon. “I never say never,” she reflected, adding, “but I really just hope that she gets the help she needs.”
Following her DUI, Shannon did not enter rehab but sought help at a behavioral wellness facility with an alcohol component. She continues to see a trauma therapist and a psychiatrist multiple times a week, utilizing these resources to better manage her use of alcohol, which she identified as a coping mechanism during her turbulent divorce from ex-husband David Beador.
The Real Housewives of Orange County continues to explore these personal dramas and more, airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
