Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs recently expressed her lack of surprise at the unfolding drama within the group, particularly involving Teresa Giudice.

In an exclusive conversation with In Touch, Margaret shared her insights during a lively event in New York City, shedding light on the intricate dynamics of her reality TV circle.

“I saw that coming. I can’t believe Jackie, being as smart as she is, didn’t see that coming but they’re really the same person and that’s what you get if that’s the kind of friendship you want,” Margaret revealed at the Mezcalum PRIDE kickoff party hosted by DJ Eliad Cohen and RHONY star Erin Lichy at the Dimes in the Gansevoort Hotel on June 27. Her comments reflected her resignation to the recurring patterns of betrayal and rivalry that mark the relationships on the show, encapsulated by her remark, “You reap what you sow.”

The backdrop to these comments was set during the 14th season of Real Housewives of New Jersey, where the tensions between Margaret and her once-close friend Jackie Goldschneider escalated over professional and personal disagreements. The strain was exacerbated by Teresa Giudice’s growing closeness with Jackie, leading to further complications. Margaret had chosen to distance herself from Teresa and her husband, Louie Ruelas, after previous season conflicts, marking a significant shift in her alliances.

The drama peaked when Teresa openly admitted to using Jackie as a pawn to gather information on Margaret, highlighting the strategic manipulations that often play out behind the scenes. This revelation came to light in an episode that aired on June 23, sparking reactions across the cast, including from Rachel Fuda, who did not hold back during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

“My reaction is that she’s the laughingstock of Bravo right now,” Rachel commented, clearly pointing out Jackie’s manipulated position in the ongoing feuds, further emphasized by Andy Cohen’s probing for clarity on who the actual laughingstock was.

Amid the music and festivity of the event, which also celebrated the debut of Eliad Cohen’s new track “Touch Me,” Margaret voiced agreement with Rachel’s perspective, acknowledging the transparency of Teresa’s tactics, “I think everybody saw it coming. To pretend it was genuine on either side, it’s true.”

Margaret’s relationship with Teresa has been fraught with contention for seasons, notably intensifying during season 13 over allegations involving threatening behavior from Teresa’s husband towards Margaret’s family—a claim that Louie has denied but Margaret continues to uphold.

Reflecting on the personal toll of these televised dramas, Margaret shared her ongoing stress in dealing with the fallout onscreen, “It’s obviously a little bit stressful, but I still stand by everything I’ve done and I’ve said.”

Despite the challenges, Margaret remains firm in her convictions and boundaries, particularly when it comes to what she expects from friendships, “I think it is sad to see a lot of the things fall apart, but I have boundaries, I have certain things that I just cannot tolerate in friendships and I think I just have to stick to them.”
