Steve Harvey is facing scrutiny over his failed marriage following a contentious Q&A session that turned acrimonious.

Steve Harvey recently encountered some unexpected responses from his social media followers after attempting to engage them directly. The host of “Family Feud” took to Twitter late on July 8th, posing a question to his 6.2 million followers: “If I inboxed you right now, what would you say to me?”

To his surprise, rather than messages of admiration or excitement, several fans candidly admitted they would ask him for money. Harvey, 67, who has enjoyed a long and successful career in entertainment, reportedly accumulating a net worth of approximately $200 million, may have been taken aback by the straightforward responses.

In addition to his role as a game show host, Steve Harvey has built a multifaceted career spanning stand-up comedy, acting in numerous films and his own sitcom, hosting talk shows, playing a television judge, and authoring popular books, all contributing to his extensive empire.

Among the various responses to his Twitter query, fans expressed gratitude for the laughter he has brought into their homes over the years. Some respondents took a more personal approach, such as inquiring about his stepdaughter, Lori Harvey, indicating a keen interest in his family life.

Steve, who gained three stepchildren — Lori, Jason, and Morgan Harvey — upon marrying Marjorie Harvey in 2007, is also a father to four adult children from previous marriages to Marcia and Mary Lee Harvey.

However, the conversation took an unexpected turn when some individuals used the opportunity to criticize Harvey. One commenter accused him of being on his third marriage and implied concerns about his relationship with his current wife, Marjorie, and her ex-partner. They also levied accusations regarding his interactions with late comedian Bernie Mac.

Despite these critical remarks, Steve Harvey continues to maintain a strong presence across various entertainment platforms, showcasing his enduring appeal and influence in the industry.

The critical remark aimed at Steve Harvey touched upon several contentious issues that have circulated around the “Think Like A Man, Act Like A Lady” author in recent times. For instance, allegations surfaced from his longtime morning radio show co-host Shirley Strawberry, suggesting Steve’s apprehension towards Marjorie Harvey, particularly after recorded phone calls with Strawberry’s estranged husband, Earnest “Earnesto” Williams, were leaked to the media. Williams is currently serving time related to fraud charges.

Adding to the scrutiny, Marjorie’s ex-husband, Jimmy L. Townsend, claimed he spoke with her just days before she wed Steve in 2007. Marjorie and Townsend were married in the 1990s and have two children together. Townsend received a life sentence in 1992 for illegal activities but served approximately 27 years before his release. During his incarceration, Marjorie was under FBI surveillance, although she was never charged or arrested.

The Harvey family has faced months of speculation amid rumors of Marjorie’s alleged infidelity. Steve vehemently denied these claims, dismissing them as false. Recently, the couple celebrated their 17th anniversary, underscoring their enduring partnership despite ongoing public scrutiny.

In 2023, an old accusation resurfaced claiming that Steve Harvey attempted to undermine the late comedian Bernie Mac’s career. The rift between them originated in the 1990s during the “Original Kings of Comedy Tour.” Allegations suggested that Steve was envious of Bernie, purportedly stole jokes, and even vied for Bernie’s role in “Ocean’s Eleven.” Despite Steve landing the role, their relationship remained strained until Bernie’s passing in 2008.

Another Twitter user wanted to ask Steve about his interactions with Katt Williams. Earlier this year, Katt Williams sparked controversy during his “Club Shay Shay” interview, where he accused several peers, including Steve, of joke theft. Williams also shared personal anecdotes about his struggles before fame, which added fuel to the ongoing feud. The animosity reportedly stemmed from an incident over 20 years ago when Steve’s sons were denied an autograph by Williams, and Steve declined a challenge to a joke-off.

Despite these controversies, Steve Harvey appeared unfazed by Williams’ remarks for several months.

In June, during the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation’s Charity Golf Classic, Steve Harvey made headlines by boldly stating, “Katt Williams ain’t s—t” and expressing his readiness to defend himself when falsely accused. Speaking passionately, Harvey emphasized that while he typically avoids using his platform to disparage others, he wouldn’t hesitate to retaliate against falsehoods.

Despite the provocative nature of his remarks, the tweet generated over 4,700 responses but notably wasn’t cross-posted on Instagram. Instead, Harvey and his team opted to maintain engagement by sharing lighthearted clips from “Family Feud” on the platform.
