Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is echoing viewers’ sentiments that the Bravo reality show is due for a cast shakeup following what she described as a “toxic,” Season 14, which notably lacked a reunion.

“I agree with Bravo that there needs to be changes … I agree with that 100 percent,” Melissa shared with Entertainment Tonight on Monday, July 8, during the New York City premiere of Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black. “I think things have gotten really toxic.”

“There’s two of my cast members that have played really dirty behind the scenes and it’s coming out,” Melissa, 45, added, declining to identify the individuals involved. “It’s all coming out because it always rises to the top, it always comes out in the laundry. It’s been years, so it’s all coming forward.”

This season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has highlighted the ongoing rift between Melissa Gorga, 45, and her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice, 52, with the two reportedly not sharing any scenes amidst years of family conflict. Melissa, married to Teresa’s brother Joe Gorga, has been a central figure in the show’s dynamic, which also includes Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral, Rachel Fuda, Jackie Goldschneider, and Jennifer Fessler.

The feud has not only strained relations between Melissa and Teresa but has also divided loyalties among the rest of the cast. Sources revealed to Us Weekly in June that RHONJ would break from tradition by forgoing a traditional reunion this season due to escalating tensions among the women. “The reunion is supposed to be about resolution and it’s clear there’s no resolving any issues between the women,” one insider explained. “There is no wrap-up in a bow and it’s not going to happen.”

Executive producer Andy Cohen has assured fans that despite the absence of a traditional reunion, the season 14 finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will offer plenty of closure and resolution.

“The main thing is this will all make sense once you see the finale,” Andy Cohen revealed during an episode of SiriusXM’s Reality Checked With Kiki Monique in June. Reflecting on the production process, he noted, “When all of us producers saw the last cut of the finale, we all came to the decision separately and then we talked. We all had the same thought, which is the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one.”

Describing the finale in the context of the show’s dramatic tradition, Andy Cohen emphasized the impact of the concluding group encounter. “It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV,” he elaborated. “I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete.”

Regarding the potential for rebooting “RHONJ” with a new cast, akin to recent changes in “The Real Housewives of New York City,” Cohen remained cautious about making any definitive decisions. “We are gonna cross next season as that comes,” he explained to Kiki Monique, highlighting the need for producers to “take a minute to figure things out.”

Fans can catch The Real Housewives of New Jersey airing on Bravo Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, and also streaming on Peacock.
