Luann de Lesseps has accused Bethenny Frankel of exploiting their recent reunion for a calculated social media post, igniting fresh drama between the former co-stars.

The relationship between Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel remains strained, despite a seemingly cordial encounter at a recent Hamptons party hosted by talent agent Jason Weinberg on Saturday, July 6.

The former Real Housewives of New York City stars, whose dynamic has oscillated between friendship and conflict over the years, have not reconciled as hoped by fans.

Luann de Lesseps, 59, expressed her disillusionment to Us Weekly, reflecting on the interaction. “After watching Bethenny’s video and still being blocked by her on social media, I realize she just used her daughter to get to me,” Luann disclosed, indicating her disappointment at what she perceived as a lack of sincerity in their reunion. “To watch the video, it hurt my feelings,” she added, revealing that her initial happiness to see Bethenny quickly soured upon further contemplation.

The encounter, which also involved Bethenny’s 14-year-old daughter Bryn — whom she shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy — appeared promising at first. Bethenny captured the moment on video, showing Bryn posing with Luann, which she later uploaded to social media. This act, however, did not seem to bridge the gap between the two as Bethenny might have hoped.

In a TikTok video posted the following day, Bethenny shared her perspective on the encounter. “So I see Luann [at the event] and Bryn gets all devious. My friend Mark is like, ‘Just say something.’ Why not, right? And it is also a good example for Bryn. We have to be good examples,” she explained. Bethenny’s approach was to foster a moment of civility, especially in front of her daughter, highlighting the importance of setting a good example.

Bethenny also noted that the interaction had a moment of warmth, “Luann hugged Bryn. We had to do it on social media because if it didn’t happen there then it didn’t happen anywhere,” she said, half-jokingly emphasizing the modern age of digital validation. Bethenny seemed to appreciate the interaction, describing it as “nice and clean,” and even received a text from Luann afterward, suggesting a semblance of familial bond: “We are like some discombobulated family.”

Despite this fleeting warmth, underlying tensions remain unresolved, primarily due to past conflicts and differing views, particularly on professional matters such as Bethenny’s recent efforts to unionize reality TV stars — a movement Luann did not support. This conflict was evident when Luann took a swipe at Bethenny during a cabaret show in December 2023, questioning Bethenny’s motives and financial statements. “Now, back to Bethenny. You know, listen, why bite the hand that feeds you?” Luann rhetorically asked her audience.

Looking ahead, Luann has made it clear that she has no desire to film with Bethenny again, citing an unlikely scenario where Bethenny would “come to the table.” Speaking to Us in May, Luann reflected, “Probably Bethenny, to be perfectly honest. I don’t think she’d come to the table in any case. … I’m not a person that lives in regrets. I think everything happens and I loved all of our fights. It was so good.”

The complexity of their relationship, woven through years of public spats and reconciliations, continues to captivate Bravo viewers, even as both stars navigate their lives beyond the direct glare of the “Real Housewives” spotlight.
