Gypsy Rose Blanchard has announced her pregnancy while reflecting candidly on her past, expressing a desire to redefine motherhood in light of her tumultuous history.
On Tuesday, July 9, the Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star, 32, shared the joyful news of her pregnancy with boyfriend Ken Urker, 31. In a heartfelt video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far” on her YouTube channel, Blanchard, who became notorious for her involvement in the 2015 killing of her mother Dee Dee, expressed her emotions about impending motherhood.
“I am 11 weeks pregnant,” Blanchard revealed tearfully in the video. “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby.” Determined to break the cycle of her troubled past, she added, “I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”
Reflecting on her journey towards motherhood, opened up emotionally about her and boyfriend Ken Urker’s backgrounds. In a heartfelt video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far” on her YouTube channel, the Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star, 32, shared that both she and Urker, 31, have experienced challenges with their family dynamics.
“I grew up without a father, pretty much, and he grew up in a family where, you know, his parents got divorced,” Blanchard revealed tearfully. “I think we both agree that neither one of us wants our child to be in that kind of a situation.” Despite their pasts, Blanchard expressed a steadfast commitment to facing life’s challenges alongside Urker. “With that being said, it doesn’t matter what we go through, him and I. Whatever we face, we’ll face it together,” she affirmed.
She concluded on a hopeful note, emphasizing the unity they now share as they embark on this new chapter together. “We’re a family now,” Blanchard added with a sense of anticipation for the future.

She acknowledged the doubts some may have, saying, “I know that there are going to be people who feel like I’m not ready to be a mother,” and added, “I don’t know if anyone’s really ready to be a mother.”
Opening up about her unexpected pregnancy, Blanchard shared the joyful news early in the video, stating, “I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now, and I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant.” She excitedly revealed that she and boyfriend Ken Urker, 31, are expecting their first child together in January 2025.
“This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected,” Blanchard admitted, “but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”
