Lala Kent Shows Tom Schwartz Around Her New Home and Receives a Plant as a Housewarming Gift
Tom Schwartz of Vanderpump Rules expressed his admiration for co-star Lala Kent’s lavish new residence during a recent visit to the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday, July 3.
Lala, who confirmed her purchase of the $3 million property in February after years of renting in Los Angeles, has been sharing glimpses of her stunning new abode’s interior and exterior, including an impressive backyard with a basketball court that left Schwartz in awe.
“Lala, you didn’t tell me you had a f-cking basketball court!” Tom exclaimed in an Instagram video during his tour of Kent’s home. “Oh my god! This is so sick!”
After the tour, Lala playfully teased fans about Schwartz’s predictable housewarming gift, which many correctly guessed to be a plant.
“When I tell you every response looks like this… I mean EVERYONE ONE,” she shared alongside a screenshot of the flood of plant guesses.
True to expectations, Tom gifted Kent a money tree, which she gratefully displayed on Instagram.
“He gave me… a money tree!” Lala wrote. “Thank you, Schwartzy! I love her.”
Schwartz’s visit to Lala’s new home comes after he recently revealed plans to downsize from his Los Angeles apartment and temporarily live in a loft while he builds a family home in Florida.
Discussing his decision on Balancing Act on May 16, Tom explained his desire to explore loft living and manage costs during the transition.
“I’m thinking about downsizing slightly, maybe a cool little loft,” Schwartz shared.
“First of all, I’ve always wanted to live in a loft, a cool artist loft. I found a really cool one in the Valley. I was thinking about possibly downsizing while I build my house in Florida, just to cut costs a little bit,” he explains.
Tom’s decision to pursue loft living effectively ruled out any possibility of moving in with close friend and fellow castmate Tom Sandoval, despite Sandoval’s proposal in Vanderpump Rules Season 11.
“The optics of me moving in with Sandoval are not good for my personal growth and everything,” Schwartz elaborated.
“I also don’t mind helping my friend out because I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen with the house, but I know his mortgage is going to be a lot more should he get to keep the house… As much as we love each other, and we’ve had very healthy conversations about this, [I’m] like, ‘Dude, I don’t really want to live with you.,'” he states.
Vanderpump Rules is on pause.
