Kelly Bensimon Returns to Iconic NYC Building After Breaking Up with Scott Litner
Kelly Bensimon, once a prominent figure on The Real Housewives of New York City and now a seasoned real estate professional, has returned to her familiar haunt at Manhattan’s Police Building following recent personal developments.
Last summer, Kelly rented out her luxurious apartment in the historic Police Building for $28,500 when she became engaged to financier Scott Litner.
However, after abruptly calling off their impending wedding, Bensimon has moved back into the building to embark on a new chapter, as confirmed exclusively to Page Six.
“I’m excited about my new chapter,” Kelly remarked, reflecting on her return.
Days before what would have been her wedding, Bensimon decided to part ways with Litner when disagreements over a pre-nuptial agreement arose.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 56-year-old explained, “He thought that I would enter this union without legal protections in place, that I would leave everything to faith. But I’ve worked really, really hard as a single mother and have always made smart decisions for myself and my family, and that will continue.”
Kelly, who was previously married to fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon, emphasized that she and Scott parted amicably.
Now back at her former address in the Police Building, Bensimon holds a special status there, often referred to as the “unofficial commissioner” of the building, which has housed luminaries and celebrities since its completion in 1909.
As a top broker with Douglas Elliman and licensed in three states, Kelly has not only resided in the Police Building but has also facilitated significant real estate transactions there.
Her tenure in the building dates back to her modeling days, where she rubbed shoulders with icons like Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Calvin Klein.
Recently, Kelly closed an $11 million sale in the Hamptons and currently lists a property in Malibu, California for $13.4 million, alongside other luxury offerings.
Unlike many in her reality TV cohort who dabble in real estate, Kelly has a deep passion for the industry. “I’ve had a love story with real estate…. I really care about finding people homes,” she affirmed.
Reflecting on her decision to call off the wedding, Bensimon stated, “It was the right thing for me, the right decision for me and my family.”
Looking ahead, she is focused on building a vibrant future. “I want to move forward and create an amazing life,” she declared.
