Lindsay Hubbard Discusses Newfound Happiness: ‘I Feel Like my Prayers were Answered’

Lindsay Hubbard has experienced a profound transformation over the past year, from heartbreak to happiness, culminating in a joyous announcement this Fourth of July.

The Summer House star revealed she is expecting her first child, marking a significant new chapter in her life.

Reflecting on her journey, Hubbard shared with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, “To think where I was this time last year is insane to me. Looking back on it, it’s just so clear to me that the universe had a plan.”

Last year, she was preparing for a November wedding with then-fiancé Carl Radke. However, by August, the engagement was off, leaving Lindsay to reassess her life and future.

Despite these challenges, Hubbard rallied, launching a new business venture, rekindling a romance with a former love, and even selling her wedding dresses for charity.

Her resilience shone through this Independence Day when she shared her pregnancy news, a stark contrast to last year’s subdued celebrations.

“The journey is really just crazy,” Lindsay continued. “All of a sudden, for a girl who’s always wanted to be a mom, there I was at 37 years old, staring down the barrel of being single and questioning when dreams of having a family would happen. And then this incredible man comes back into my life and next thing you know, I’m pregnant. It’s like the universe was saying, ‘See? This is the time. This is the guy. Now you’re ready.’ I feel like my prayers were answered.”

Hubbard’s boyfriend, a doctor in biotech investing who prefers to stay out of the public eye, was by her side as they discovered the pregnancy.

Lindsay explained how a delayed period led her to suspect she might be pregnant. “It immediately and unmistakably displayed with words ‘You are pregnant’ and as shocking as that was, having a really clear result just helped alleviate the unknown,” she recalled.

The confirmation came while Hubbard was attending her best friend’s wedding in Mexico, forcing her to wait until her return to share the news with her boyfriend.

The couple, who were not planning or trying for a baby, embraced the surprise wholeheartedly. Lindsay praised her partner’s support and excitement about becoming a father, emphasizing the strength and health of their relationship.

“We have a very loving, caring, and healthy relationship. I finally feel like I met my match with him,” she noted.

Hubbard’s belief in destiny and her unwavering hope through personal trials have been central to her narrative.

“I have to tell you, even when everything was happening last year, I never gave up on love and I never gave up on the idea that I’d be a mom,” Lindsay said. “And that’s how I’ve always been: I just never allowed any past heartbreak to make me feel jaded about these dreams I’ve had. And that’s why I think the universe took care of me; because I always believed it would happen.”

As Hubbard prepares for motherhood and the upcoming season of Summer House, she remains committed to respecting her partner’s wish for privacy, a balancing act given her very public persona. This new beginning is not just a personal victory but a testament to her resilience and faith in life’s timing.
