‘RHOBH’ Newbie Jennifer Tilly Reveals Filming Is ‘Insane’ and ‘Scarier than Chucky’
Jennifer Tilly, the actress renowned for her battles with the notorious doll Chucky in the “Child’s Play” franchise, is now navigating a different kind of drama on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Tilly, who joined the show in a “Friend” capacity, shared her experiences on the “It Happened in Hollywood” podcast on Tuesday, July 2, revealing that the reality show presents its own unique challenges.
“It’s insane. It’s, like, scarier than Chucky. I’ll tell you that,” Jennifer, 65, confessed during the podcast, which also stars in the “Chucky” series on Syfy and USA Network.
Unlike a full-fledged Housewife, Tilly enjoys a less involved role.
“I’m not a Housewife. I’m a Friend, though, which is a lot easier,” she explained. “You just dip in and out. You try to avoid, like, flying shrapnel. And you know, if drinks are thrown, I have good reflexes.”
The episode also featured a reunion with Gina Gershon, her co-star from the 1996 thriller “Bound,” as they reminisced about their film project. However, the conversation soon turned to Jennifer’s latest television endeavor.
Gina revealed her own brush with potentially joining the “Real Housewives” franchise but ultimately decided against it due to fears about the intense nature of the show. “They approached me,” Gershon said. “I was too scared.”
Tilly, on the other hand, encouraged Gina, suggesting she would excel on the show: “Holy cow. Genie, you would be great.”
Gershon reciprocated with support for Jennifer new role, confidently stating, “You know what? You’re gonna be genius on that. You’ll take over that whole set, Jen. I have no doubt. I’d actually even watch it with you on it!”
RHOBH fans may recognize Jennifer from her previous guest appearances alongside her friend Sutton Stracke.
As the series gears up for its 14th season, currently in production, Tilly is set to have a more prominent presence.
She will be joining a dynamic cast that includes returning Housewives Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, and Garcelle Beauvais, as well as newcomer Bozoma “Boz” Saint John. Kathy Hilton, sister to Kyle and former Housewife Kim Richards, will also return as a Friend.
The new season follows significant cast changes, with Crystal Kung Minkoff and Annemarie Wiley exiting the series after three and one seasons, respectively.
With filming still underway, insiders hint at an exciting season ahead for RHOBH, promising more intriguing developments and perhaps a few surprises as Tilly brings her unique flair to the Beverly Hills drama.
