Ciara Miller Confirms She’s ‘Single and Dating’ Following Split from West Wilson
Ciara Miller is gearing up for her return to Summer House season 9, facing the prospect of sharing a home with her ex, West Wilson.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 28-year-old nurse and model shared her approach to navigating the complexities of their relationship under the same roof once again.
“That’s part being in your 20s is screwing up some things and restarting and figuring it out,” Ciara explained during the celebration of TRESemmé’s Keratin Smooth Weightless Collection launch.
Following her breakup with West, 29, Miller opened up about her current relationship status.
“I’m single and dating around,” she revealed, noting a newfound hesitance to date someone from television.
“I keep getting my feelings hurt, so I don’t know,” she admitted. “It does create this weird thing of wanting to be more of a recluse and kind of reel it back. But in the moment, it’s so fun, but then not all parts of it are fun.”
Ciara also shared that she avoids watching herself on television as a form of self-protection from the delayed emotional impact of the show’s airing.
“The lag time is around six to seven months,” she said. “Mentally, I’ve really tried to move on, but it makes it hard when you’re watching it back, and the emotions do feel really fresh sometimes.”
Her coping mechanism involves significant support from her therapist and close communication with co-stars Amanda Batula and Paige DeSorbo.
“It really is fun that I can capture every moment and I can go back if I want to,” Miller reflected. “The fun times I love to rewatch, but the hard times, it’s kind of like, ‘How did I end up here?’ We’re just figuring it out.”
Ciara expressed a strong connection with her female fans, valuing their messages of empathy and support over potential romantic interests reaching out.
“I am for the girls in my DMs that are just like, ‘I can relate’ or ‘I’ve been there and you’re not dumb,’” she said. “The girls honestly make it worth it through thick and thin and bad and good. It’s really such a community.”
Reflecting on her relationship history, particularly with Wilson, Miller discussed the challenges they faced after he entered the spotlight.
“Early December we had a dinner about like laying it all out there and figuring out what we were going to do,” West shared during part 1 of the Summer House season 8 reunion, acknowledging their frequent time spent together but his inability to commit due to the complexities of show-related fame.
Ciara labeled West’s reluctance to commit as an “easy cop-out,” feeling misled after significant personal milestones, including meeting his family and attending a wedding together.
Despite these setbacks, she remains open but cautious about the future.
“It would have to be a world of change or something like it and I just don’t know what people are capable of so… I mean, I’m not holding my breath for anyone,” she concluded.
As season 9 filming kicks off in the Hamptons, Miller is set to navigate these personal dynamics amidst a backdrop of both familiar faces and new cast members.
With Danielle Olivera confirming her departure from the show, the upcoming season promises new twists and intense interpersonal dramas.
