Racquel Chevremont Joins ‘RHONY’ Season 15 as New Cast Member
Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City is set to welcome Racquel Chevremont as a new star for its upcoming Season 15, joining a diverse cast that includes Jenna Lyons, Brynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank, Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, and Sai De Silva.
Hailing from the Bronx, Racquel brings a rich background as an art curator with over two decades of experience, collaborating with prestigious institutions and advising on collections for various films and TV series such as “Severance,” “Empire,” and “And Just Like That…”
Chevremont’s career began in 1993 when she was discovered by photographer Steve Landis for Elite Models.
She has since appeared in campaigns for brands like Benetton, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and L’Oréal, gracing the covers of international editions of Elle magazine.
A proud queer black woman, Racquel spoke openly about her journey in an interview with GLAAD, saying, “I’m what you’d call a later-in-life lesbian, and when I first came out, I lost a lot of people.”
Despite personal challenges, she found solace in her professional life, thriving in industries where queerness is celebrated.
Alongside her career, Chevremont co-founded The Josie Club, a social impact group focused on community building and event production for queer black women.
Her dedication to representation and advocacy led her to embrace the opportunity to join the iconic Real Housewives franchise.
Reflecting on her decision to join the show, Racquel shared, “My family and I really had to think about it; in the end, it made sense.” She sees her role on the show as a chance to showcase her loving family and chosen community, aiming to break stereotypes and promote understanding.
“I hope that seeing me and my family and being able to relate to us regardless of your sexual orientation will perhaps change a couple of hearts and minds,” Chevremont expressed, highlighting her aspiration to foster inclusivity and understanding through her platform.
Her castmates and fans have eagerly welcomed her addition.
Jessel Taank had expressed excitement on Instagram, exclaiming, “WHAT?!!! Racquel’s joining the cast of RHONY?!” while Erin Danalichy added, “Such a great addition ❤️❤️😍😍”
