‘RHOSLC’ Alum Monica Garcia Comments on Lisa Barlow Lawsuit, Believes It’s Her Karma
Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia has weighed in on the latest legal trouble facing her ex-costar Lisa Barlow.
Barlow, along with her businesses Vida Tequila and Luxe Marketing, is facing a lawsuit from Bart Carlson, a longtime friend who alleges he loaned her over $400,000 during a period of financial hardship.
In the lawsuit filed Wednesday, Bart claims he provided financial assistance to Lisa and her companies between May 2010 and February 2018. Despite repeated requests for repayment, Carlson asserts that Barlow has not fulfilled her obligations.
Responding to the lawsuit, Lisa Barlow stated to TMZ, “Bart Carlson was once a business partner in a restaurant in Park City and, I thought, a friend. I am deeply saddened that he has decided nine years after our restaurant business ceased to claim that I owe him money.”
“To be very clear, the claim that I owe Bart or his company money is untrue. I pay my bills and obligations and I always have. In addition, Bart has no interest in Luxe Marketing or Vida Tequila and did not invest in either business. I look forward to the truth coming out and I intend to hold Bart fully accountable for any damage this personal attack may cause me or my businesses.” She states.
Meanwhile, Monica, speaking about the controversy during an interview at Jennifer Dilandro’s Dolce Aesthetics Pride party in New York City, expressed her views on the situation.
“When I tell you that karma is so real. I’m not even saying it’s true or false or anything. But this is what happens. That woman made it seem like I took her $60K ring to the entire world,” Garcia said, referring to a jewelry incident involving Barlow during a cast trip to Palm Springs.
Monica Garcia denied any wrongdoing regarding the ring, which was lost in an airport bathroom. She criticized what she perceived as rumors started by Lisa Barlow and Heather Gay, another cast member. “
“Let me make this really clear. It’s easy, it’s stereotypical. I did not steal your ring. You’re saying I would steal it because I have less than you,” Garcia asserted.
Monica Garcia’s tenure on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ended after Season 3, during which she was linked to an Instagram troll account but was not asked to return for Season 4.
