‘Doubling Down With the Derricos’ Star Deon Breaks His Silence About Divorcing Karen!

Doubling Down With the Derricos star Deon Derrico has broken his silence regarding his recent divorce filing from wife Karen Derrico. 

In the wake of their recent divorce, Deon Derrico took to Instagram to address the end of their nearly two-decade-long marriage to Karen Derrico.

The TLC reality star took to Instagram on Monday to discuss the situation, following the news that the couple had divorced after nearly two decades together.

Although Karen and Deon Derrico’s marriage has ended abruptly, their affection for each other remains. The stars of TLC’s Doubling Down With the Derricos surprised fans by confirming their divorce after 19 years of marriage. Despite the separation, Deon emphasized the enduring significance of their past relationship.

For four years, Karen and Deon have provided viewers with an inside look at their bustling lives as parents to 14 children, including multiple sets of multiples. Since its 2020 debut, Doubling Down With the Derricos has captured the highs and lows of their lives, from the birth of their now 4-year-old triplets to memorable family vacations, cramped living conditions, and grandma GG’s cancer diagnosis. The show may now include the couple’s journey through divorce, pending a renewal for season 6.

As reported, Karen and Deon filed for divorce on June 4, with a judge signing off on the divorce petition two days later. Shortly after, the couple confirmed to People that their marriage had ended.

While Karen and Deon have not disclosed the reasons behind their divorce, they have committed to co-parenting their 13 minor children. “Their well-being is our priority,” the couple stated.

Recently, the pair has shown a united front on social media, posting about new episodes of their show and their dedication to their family. On June 18, Deon shared a photo of himself, Karen, and his mom GG on Instagram, reminiscing about their move from Detroit to Las Vegas 18 years ago. In response to a fan’s hopeful comment, Deon replied, “Awwww thank you I’m still very much in love with her.”

Reports indicate that Karen and Deon will share custody of their children, with Deon paying $1,166 per month in child support and Karen covering health insurance premiums. Deon has reiterated their focus on their children’s well-being during this transition. “[O]ur babies are happy!!” Deon wrote in response to a critical comment on an Instagram video of the Derrico kids dancing. “And that’s because both Karen, and I remain committed to giving them a nurturing environment no matter what she and I personally have going on!!!! Our babies being loved, heard, and seen is what matters to them and it shows!!”

Days after the news broke, Deon addressed the divorce on Instagram, writing, “When you have nothing else in this world as long as you have your great health, and family nothing else really matters,” alongside a family photo.

Karen, who gave birth to all 14 children naturally, also acknowledged Deon in an Instagram post celebrating Father’s Day, calling him “the best father any 14 children can ask for!” This post came as a surprise following the announcement of their divorce.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the couple will share legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children. Deon will provide monthly child support, while Karen will handle the children’s medical insurance.
