Drew Barrymore’s Show DELETES ’90 Day Fiance’ Star Angela Deem’s Interview After Intense Backlash!
Drew Barrymore faced criticism from fans after featuring 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem on her daytime talk show on Monday, June 17, with many questioning the host’s familiarity with the reality villain.
The backlash was so severe that the show’s Instagram page took down the clip featuring the TLC star the next day due to overwhelming negative comments.
During the episode, Drew’s guest cohost Ross Mathews, known for his love of reality TV, introduced a new segment aimed at bringing Drew into his “world.” Explaining the premise of 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs, Ross enthusiastically praised Angela Deem, stating, “There’s one cast member who I’m so obsessed with. She has brought the drama, the heart, the mayhem, the mischief, and the memaw.”
A clip featuring Angela Deem arguing with her estranged husband, Michael Ilesanmi, was shown before she appeared onstage. However, the video has since been removed from The Drew Barrymore Show’s YouTube channel amidst the controversy.
According to InTouch, Angela Deem received a warm reception from Drew Barrymore’s live audience, but 90 Day Fiancé viewers expressed shock and disappointment over her positive treatment. Criticism flooded a clip posted on The Drew Barrymore Show’s Instagram page on Monday, June 17, with many questioning why Angela was chosen to appear.
“Wow – have you seen the show? Did anyone do their homework before inviting this abusive person on your show? For someone who promotes kindness and ‘good news,’ this was a big strikeout,” one commenter remarked.
“Majorly disappointed in The Drew Barrymore Show for having Angela Deem on their show. Whether her performances on 90 Day Fiancé franchise are real or fake … how can Drew have a person like Angela on her show … a woman who has physically and verbally assaulted Michael on TV … it was seen by anyone watching. Wow! Just WOW!” another viewer expressed.
“Of ALLLLLLL the 90 Day cast, THATS who you chose?” questioned one follower, while another directly told Drew, “So disappointed in you.” The clip remained online until 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 18, but was subsequently deleted, displaying a “Sorry, this page isn’t available” message.
Angela Deem first gained fame on Before the 90 Days Season 2, where she embarked on a relationship with Nigerian resident Michael, 35, whom she met and fell in love with online. Since then, the Georgia resident has appeared on “90 Day Fiancé” and its spinoff, “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?”, garnering a reputation among fans for her tumultuous relationship with Michael, often described as “toxic.”
After their marriage in 2020, Angela and Michael faced setbacks with Michael’s K-1 visa denial, leading them to pivot towards pursuing a spousal visa. Their journey is currently unfolding on Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, as they navigate the complexities of securing Michael’s immigration status.
In February 2024, Michael sparked concern when he went missing shortly after arriving in the U.S. on December 23, 2023. He was located three days later, explaining to authorities that he feared for his safety and deliberately kept his whereabouts hidden from Angela.
Amidst these developments, Angela publicly accused Michael of manipulating her to gain entry into the United States and hinted at plans to initiate divorce proceedings.
During her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show with guest cohost Ross Mathews, Angela affirmed that she and Michael were still together when questioned about the current status of their relationship, stating she was “absolutely,” committed to making things work despite their ongoing challenges.
