‘Sister Wives’ Star Mykelti Brown and Tony Padron Moving to North Carolina Following Garrison’s Death!
Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown and daughter of Kody Brown and his former wife Christine Woolley, recently announced a significant move away from Utah.
Mykelti Brown alongside her husband Tony Padron and their family are moving to the great state of North Carolina, after living in Utah for many years.
In an exclusive livestream on Patreon and YouTube, Mykelti enthusiastically shared the news, saying:
“We’re moving to North Carolina!” Tony Padron joined in, explaining the decision further, “We’re gonna move out of Utah… We’re going to move to the great state of North Carolina. We haven’t really told anyone in the Internet universe.”
Tony elaborated on the practicalities of the move — noting the necessity to sell their Utah home due to the expenses involved in relocating to North Carolina.
The relocation marks a new chapter for Mykelti and her family, signaling a significant geographical shift away from her father Kody and his wife, Robyn, who remain in Utah.
“The whole packing has started so it’s going to be a lot,” Tony Padron added.
Most of the Brown Family kids reside in Utah or Arizona, where Kody and Robyn and their children are based. However, Maddie Brown and her husband Caleb Brush, along with their three children, made a move to North Carolina several years ago and currently own a home there.
Mykelti made it clear that their decision to move to North Carolina isn’t driven by a desire to be near her sister, Maddie.
“But it’s a really nice benefit that our kids will have some cousins around them,” Mykelti, who has three children with Tony, mentioned. “So that’s exciting.”
Christine Brown, Mykelti’s mother, isn’t thrilled about Mykelti relocating to North Carolina.
“Let’s not discuss it!” Tony quipped in response to a Patreon user’s question about Christine’s feelings regarding the move.
“My mom is happy for our adventure,” Mykelti said cautiously. “She supports our decisions because we’re doing this for ourselves as a family, but she’s also very sad that we’ll be leaving her.”
Currently, five of Christine and Kody’s six children reside in Utah, with Gwendlyn being the lone exception living in Arizona.
“There’s a lot of feelings there,” Mykelti elaborated. “So we’re trying to spend as much time as possible with my family — my mom and David, and the kids on this side, as well as my siblings and Tony’s family. We’re making an effort to hang out and maximize our time together, because it will become more challenging once we’re farther away.”
“My mom’s not handling it well either,” Tony chimed in.
While Mykelti didn’t disclose Kody and Robyn’s sentiments about their impending move, she did mention that Mr. and Mrs. Brown have no intention of relocating to North Carolina with them.
In a November podcast interview, Maddie expressed gratitude for living in the Tar Heel State, emphasizing how it keeps her and her children removed from the drama within the Brown Family unfolding in Utah and Arizona.
“Obviously, my family is falling apart on TV. It’s not a secret,” Maddie candidly stated during the podcast. “You can see it… so I always tell Caleb that I’m grateful because I feel like God moved us here.”
“My parents, I love them, but they are all very opinionated, so it was easy to kind of get caught in the – I think minutia might be the right word – where you’re just kind of doing things that they did because they did it and that’s how you were raised,” Maddie continued. “So it was kind of really good for me to step into my own. I’m going to raise my kids the way that I want to. There still is a lot of heartache [in the family] but my kids didn’t see it.”
In the interview, Maddie revealed that her children don’t know Kody well because he hasn’t actively engaged with them. Despite this, she expressed gratitude to her mother Janelle and Christine for staying closely connected with her children, despite living far apart.
