Ashley Darby, 36, took center stage at a wellness event on Saturday, June 1, in Washington, D.C., to raise funds for the National Brain Tumor Society.

The Real Housewives of Potomac star had been promoting the GnA Fusion fundraiser, co-hosted with her co-star Gizelle Bryant, 53, for weeks.

The event, named after the duo’s new fitness apparel line, featured a morning of health and wellness activities, including yoga and HIIT classes. Bravo cameras captured the event, and fellow friends Jacqueline Blake, 39, and RHOP alum, Nneka Ihim, 36, showed their support.

A source who attended the event gave The U.S. Sun an exclusive rundown of the day, highlighting a particularly awkward moment involving Ashley. The insider recounted Ashley’s on-stage performance of her new song, “Healing and Thriving.”

Ashley can’t sing for s**t. It literally sounded like a 6-year-old at a karaoke bar,” the source bluntly stated, describing the performance as far from what attendees expected.

The U.S. Sun obtained a video of Ashley’s performance, showing her in short black shorts, a tiny white t-shirt, and sneakers, stomping her feet and attempting to engage the crowd sitting on the grass.

The new track, which reflects on her split from husband Michael two years ago, failed to impress the audience.

Despite the performance, the source mentioned that Ashley and Gizelle were very personable and supportive, expressing willingness to attend future events—provided Ashley refrains from singing.

Social media reactions were less forgiving, with many criticizing Ashley’s singing. “Ashley sounds terrible, cut the mic,” one person commented. Another questioned, “This is ridiculous,” while a third called her performance “funny and horrible.”

Critics continued, with one remarking, “Who keeps telling her to get in the booth and create music because it’s really bad,” and another adding, “She sounds out of breath. This song is so cringey.”

“Vocals are all over the place,” another fan noted, receiving dozens of likes. “Yeah I’ll pass on her music, It’s tacky and cringe” one more chimed in.

Ashley, who joined the franchise in January 2016, has tried to leverage her reality TV fame to launch a singing career among other ventures. In 2018, she released her debut single, “Coffee and Love,” produced by her brother.

RHOP is currently filming.
