As she navigates a contentious divorce with her estranged husband Chuvalo Mark Ferrell, who recently faced legal troubles, In Touch has exclusively revealed.

Court documents obtained by In Touch detail that Kelli, a chef and Food Network personality, filed for divorce from Chuvalo in April 2022. The couple, married since August 2011, officially separated in January 2022, citing irreconcilable differences.

The divorce proceedings have been tumultuous, with Kelli seeking sole legal custody of their four children and financial support, including attorney fees. Assets totaling $1.7 million, including their shared home and several luxury vehicles, are also under contention.

In response to Kelli’s filing, Chuvalo acknowledged the end of their marriage but contested the separation date and requested joint physical and legal custody of their children. He argued against spousal support, asserting both parties’ financial independence.

The legal battle escalated with allegations of financial mismanagement and misconduct. Kelli accused Chuvalo of dissipating marital assets and interfering with their business affairs. She obtained a temporary restraining order to prevent him from selling off assets without her consent.

A pivotal court decision in June 2022 awarded Kelli sole ownership of their restaurant, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles, amid accusations of fraud and financial misconduct. Chuvalo disputed these claims, asserting his role in the business and challenging the court’s rulings.

Recent developments saw Chuvalo held in contempt of court for failing to comply with financial obligations and court orders. He was briefly incarcerated in early 2024 until he met bond requirements.

As the legal battle continues, Kelli remains focused on her children and professional endeavors, while Chuvalo’s representatives emphasize his commitment to a fair resolution and parental rights amidst ongoing public scrutiny.

Her journey into entrepreneurship continued as she ventured into the culinary world, ultimately founding the acclaimed eatery Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles in Georgia.

Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles has garnered praise for its Louisiana and Maryland-style cuisine, expanding to two locations and earning Kelli appearances on notable platforms such as Food Network and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Her culinary expertise has also landed her spots on television shows including Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, and Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Originally hailing from Maryland, she initially moved to Atlanta in 2003 to pursue a fashion education, but her culinary roots, learning from her mom and grandmother – “Nana” – in the kitchen, soon beckoned her back.
