‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Scheana Shay Claims She Never Got A Nose Job!
Scheana Shay has addressed persistent rumors about her plastic surgery journey head-on during the latest episode of her popular podcast, Scheananigans with Scheana Shay.
The Vanderpump Rules star tackled the topic after receiving a fan question about her cosmetic enhancements.
While confirming her recent Botox treatments, Shay took a moment to dispel long-standing speculation about a rhinoplasty.
“Despite popular opinion, I’ve legitimately have not had a nose job, but I really see why everyone thinks that I have,” she explained candidly on her podcast.
“When I see a photo of me from [Vanderpump Rules] Season 1, specifically from the right side, and then I see a photo of me from Season 11 — with perfect glam — from the left side, my face legit does look different on both sides.”
Responding to another common query regarding her preference for showcasing one side of her face in photos, Shay clarified with a touch of humor:
“If you saw my most recent post from the Watch What Happens Live [with Andy Cohen] 15-year party, there are actually two photos in that carousel that I made sure to put the right side of my face.”
“And there’s one with Heather Gay from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and I was on my bad side, quote unquote. I just prefer my left side,” she stated.
“I just feel like I know my angles more now and I have much better glam than I did back then,” she said in response to the nose job speculation.
“But I totally get it. If I see a side-by-side of a before and after, I’m like, ‘Damn, it does look like I’ve had work done.’” Scheana claims.
Acknowledging that her appearance can vary significantly due to angles and better makeup skills now compared to earlier seasons, Shay hinted she isn’t opposed to future cosmetic procedures, asserting she would be transparent about any enhancements.
“If I had had work done, I probably got a really good deal on it, if not a trade,” she joked. “And I would’ve posted about it. So, no. Anything I get done in the future, if I do, you will see it.”
Reactions from fans poured in following Scheana Shay’s recent statements, with one user expressing skepticism, “Scheana stop lying!!!”
Another follower took a harsher tone, commenting, “Can we cancel Scheana? Homegirl lies about nose jobs and is a pick me.”
One VPR fan said, “So you photoshop your pics or you straight up just lied?”
A third user urged Scheana to be more transparent, stating, “Scheana, go to bed. Stop lying and just come out and say it.”
Scheana’s openness extended beyond her nose, as she shared insights into her experience with Botox during a discussion with former 90210 star Shenae Grimes-Beech on a different podcast episode.
Reflecting on her audition for the iconic teen drama, Shay disclosed how feedback from casting directors prompted her to explore Botox.
“The casting directors for 90210 are some of the reasons why I ended up getting Botox,” Scheana Shay revealed. “They told me that, for Disney, my facial expression was great. But for a more dramatic type of role, I needed to learn how to control my eyebrows.”
Scheana Shay disclosed how her audition success for a role almost fell through due to her eyebrows.
“They were like, ‘The role is yours, here’s your callback. We want you for this, but we’re bringing in a couple other girls as well because if you can’t control your facial features then we’re not going to give it to you,'” Shay recounted.
Reflecting on the pivotal moment, Scheana revealed her decision to explore Botox came shortly after. “‘Maybe try some Botox,'” she was advised, prompting her to start treatments at the age of 24 or 25. “I was like, ‘Oh, I guess that’s what I have to do to get the resting bitch face,'” she explained candidly.
The revelation surprised her podcast guest Shenae Grimes-Beech, who shared her own reservations about altering facial expressions for acting roles. “As an actor, you’d think… You know, the reason why I’ve hesitated to go down that route myself is that I need my facial expressions,” Grimes-Beech commented.
Scheana concurred, humorously noting the benefits of Botox in maintaining a composed appearance suited for reality television: “In my interviews, I don’t want my face moving.”
Vanderpump Rules is currently on pause for season 12.
