Lindsay Hubbard Responds to Accusations of ‘Faking Tears’ Following Carl Radke Split
Following her tumultuous split from Carl Radke, Lindsay Hubbard has consistently credited her Summer House castmates for their unwavering support during a challenging period.
However, as her relationship drama unfolded on Season 8 of the show, some of her fellow cast members began to question her version of events.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lindsay expressed disappointment and hurt over the skepticism from some of her friends.
“That was really disappointing for me to see and quite honestly, it was really hurtful, because it made me question their support in one of the toughest, most humiliating moments of my life,” she revealed.
“This doesn’t even involve teams, just support me for the humiliation I had just gone through very publicly or have support for something bad that happens to somebody.”
Paige DeSorbo, one of Lindsay’s housemates, had initially shown sympathy towards Lindsay in the Season 8 finale of Summer House.
However, in a candid discussion on the show’s After Show, Paige hinted at doubts about Lindsay’s emotional display during a gathering at Danielle Olivera’s apartment.
“When she does her crying, no tears, I can’t align with it,” Paige explained.
“It’s very hard for me to then believe anything that comes out of her mouth.”
Ciara Miller echoed similar sentiments, noting,:
“Whenever she recounts a story, she’s always 110% always the victim. There’s never anything that she could have done or said that was problematic or wrong, so I know when she’s telling a story, there’s two sides to the story. There’s Lindsay’s side, there’s Carl’s side, there’s the truth, and there’s somewhere in between that.”
Responding to these critiques, Lindsay defended her emotional authenticity in the Rolling Stone interview. “To then watch someone talk about how I was faking my tears — I don’t even know how to fake tears,” she asserted.
“Or them saying that [Carl] didn’t actually break up with me. It was just really hurtful… I’m still standing by the fact that I was blindsided.” She stated.
Why did you get engaged to begin with if you’re that quick to run away and not talk through your issues?… I asked him to get a job and then he broke up with me.”
Additionally, Lindsay Hubbard remains steadfast in her assertion that she was blindsided by her breakup with Carl Radke, dismissing any doubts cast on her account.
“I’m still standing by the fact that I was blindsided. Why did you get engaged to begin with if you’re that quick to run away and not talk through your issues?” Lindsay questioned in the same interview.
She continued to detail the events leading up to the split, emphasizing:
“The things that we were talking about in those last two weeks were strictly about his career; it was not about our overall relationship. It was not about how he felt unhappy. He mentioned calling off the wedding on that final day in the Hamptons but then immediately afterward was like, ‘I’m committed to working through this with you.’ It just seems insane. I asked him to get a job and then he broke up with me.”
As of now, there has been no confirmation regarding the return of Summer House for Season 9.
