Kim Zolciak Granted 90-Day Extension in Georgia Mansion Foreclosure Battle!
Amid their ongoing divorce battle, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have come to an agreement in the foreclosure case concerning their Alpharetta home in Georgia.
As per court documents, the couple’s bank lender, Truist, has agreed to halt foreclosure proceedings for the next 90 days. This allows Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann the opportunity to attempt to sell their property without the looming threat of foreclosure.
In April, attorneys representing Truist had given Kim Zolciak and Kroy until May 3 to return to court, warning them of the possibility of facing foreclosure if they failed to comply.
The former couple currently has their home listed for $4.5 million. This follows a significant reduction in the asking price, which had failed to attract buyers since October.
Originally listed for $3.2 million in early October, the asking price was nearly doubled to $6 million shortly thereafter, according to Zillow.
Situated on 1.78 acres, the sprawling 15,700 sq. ft. mansion is located 25 miles north of Atlanta. Boasting seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, the property offers picturesque views of a lake and golf course. Additional features include a heated pool, a six-car garage, a walk-in wine cellar, and a gym complete with a spa area.
Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 46, has offered glimpses into her opulent home via Instagram, showcasing features like the kids’ unique arcade room boasting hand-painted murals and a distinctive splatter-print carpet.
Additionally, she shared footage of the estate’s private basketball court, where her 11-year-old son Kash was seen enjoying a game.
The estranged couple, who were married for 12 years, are parents to six children. Alongside Kash, they have twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 10, and son Kroy Jagger, 13. Kim’s two older daughters — Brielle, 27, and Ariana, 22 — were legally adopted by Kroy in 2013.
Nearly two months after former NFL pro, aged 38, officially filed for divorce from Kim in August, the estranged couple put their house on the market.
In May 2023, with the Bravo star describing their marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” In July, they briefly reconsidered their decision to split, attempting to resolve their issues for the sake of their children.
Despite their separation, they were still residing together in the house.
In April, Kim made headlines when she called the police on Kroy, alleging that he had stolen her phone and locked himself in her room. TMZ obtained a 911 call and police body cam footage confirming the incident. Kim claimed that her estranged husband had violated a December 2023 court order mandating that they each reside in separate areas of the house.
Their Georgia mansion became embroiled in controversy long before the couple’s split. In February 2023, the property faced foreclosure, as indicated by a notice from Fulton County. Truist Bank intended to auction it off after the couple defaulted on a $1.65 million loan they had secured in 2012.
Kim maintained that the situation was merely a “misunderstanding” with the bank, a source informed PEOPLE at the time.
“She is telling everyone this is a misunderstanding and is being sorted out,” the source explained, emphasizing, “She’s not moving.”
Although the issue was eventually resolved before the scheduled auction, an insider confided that financial difficulties had contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
“There’s no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the split, but there were other factors. He’s been managing [the family] for a long time, so he technically did have a job. They’re not on good terms right now,” the source revealed.
