Brittany Cartwright is leaning into a solo summer as she navigates life post-separation from estranged husband Jax Taylor.
The Valley star, 35, was spotted by PEOPLE out and about with a friend in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 1, sporting a vibrant green romper but notably sans wedding ring on her left hand.
This sighting of Cartwright’s ring finger with no ring comes after her estranged husband, Jax, 44, being photographed enjoying a three-hour lunch in L.A. with Paige Woolen at the Granville Cafe on May 25. The couple, who share three-year-old son Cruz Michael Cauchi, announced their separation back in February after four years of marriage.
“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” Brittany disclosed on the estranged couple’s podcast, When Reality Hits, as she revealed the separation.
Following the photographs with the IG model, Taylor clarified his relationship status, asserting that he was “not dating anyone” in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, May 30. In a subsequent solo episode of When Reality Hits on May 31, Jax divulged that both he and Cartwright have mutually agreed that exploring relationships with other people “is okay” as they navigate their separation.
“We have a couple of rules with it, but this is what we are exploring,” he elaborated.
On the May 31 episode of Scheananigans, Scheana unveiled the intriguing backstory behind Paige’s introduction to Jax, recounting how the connection unfolded through a charity golf event. “Apparently, Paige’s dad won a round of golf at some charity event, to play a round of golf with Jax. And then, he was like, “Oh, you should meet my daughter,”’ Scheana disclosed, reflecting on the unusual introduction. ‘When I heard that the dad introduced her to Jax … I was like, “Okay.” It was interesting.”
Contrary to speculation, Scheana clarified that her prior acquaintance with Paige stemmed from a podcast appearance years before her involvement with Jax. “She was on my podcast years a few years ago … She was pitched as a guest from Action Park Media, who I used to be with, because she has an Instagram account called Dudes in the DMs … They were like:
“You don’t have a guest for next week. Do you want to have Paige Woolen on?” And I was like, “Sure. Whatever.” [I had] no idea who she was. So I just want to put that out there. It’s not like she was like a friend of mine,” Scheana clarified.
In light of the alleged rendezvous between Jax and Paige, the pair made a public appearance at a birthday celebration for Jeremy Madix, who’s Ariana Madix’s brother, at Jax and Brittany’s bar, Jax’s Studio City. During the festivities, Paige made a lighthearted remark, quipping, “I’m pregnant.”
However, Scheana swiftly intervened, admonishing Paige for her jest and expressing Brittany’s distress over the comment.
“This sense of humor that you think you have is not going to fly in this group with this audience. There’s nothing funny about what you said,” Scheana asserted, highlighting Brittany’s sensitivity following her separation from Jax in February.
