Former The Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps isn’t one to shy away from confrontation, and her candid remarks about her former co-star Bethenny Frankel are proof of that.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly’s Sip or Spill Series, Luann, 59, didn’t hesitate to express her reluctance to film with Bethenny again. “Probably Bethenny [Frankel], to be perfectly honest,” she stated. “I don’t think she’d come to the table in any case.”
The tension between Luann and Bethenny has been evident throughout their time on RHONY, with their relationship experiencing its fair share of ups and downs. Despite briefly reconciling in 2019, their feud reignited in July 2023 when Bethenny took a jab at Luann’s cabaret show on social media.
Responding to a fan’s comment, Bethenny wrote, “Feels fairly likely since my life isn’t a cabaret,” reigniting the feud between the two Housewives. Their disagreement escalated further when Bethenny proposed the idea of reality TV stars unionizing later that summer, prompting Luann to express her disagreement.
Luann’s disdain for Bethenny was evident during one of her cabaret shows in December 2023, where she questioned why Bethenny continued to involve herself in Housewives drama despite her financial success. “You [Bethenny] make millions and gazillions of dollars. If you claim you do, then why are you still harping on us? Why are you talking about us?” she questioned.
During the interview, Luann also played a game of “Marry, F—k, Kill” with Us Weekly, where she didn’t hesitate to express her feelings. “I’m gonna marry Dorinda because I want to live at Bluestone Manor,” she quipped, before stating, “I’m gonna give Ramona a little action and you know I’d kill Bethenny.”
Despite the drama, Luann insists she has no regrets about her time on the show. “I’m not a person that lives in regrets,” she affirmed. “I think everything happens and I loved all of our fights. It was so good.”
When faced with other probing questions, such as which housewife she trusts the least, Luann cleverly evaded them by sipping her rosé.
