Donald Trump Issues Warning Amid Conviction ‘It Can Happen To Anyone!’

Former President Donald Trump issued a cautionary message to Americans, highlighting the potential risks of facing legal consequences similar to his own. He suggested that if he could be found guilty of falsifying records to conceal a sex scandal, then anyone could face the same fate.

“I did nothing wrong, and frankly, there was nothing done wrong — NDA’s are standard, commonly used, and LEGAL. MAGA2024!” Trump declared in his post on Truth Social on Friday.

Donald Trump Convicted

As reported on Thursday, the leading 2024 Republican nominee was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The case revolves around a $130,000 “hush money” payment to silence porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

Daniels claimed that Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer and now key witness, employed “intimidation and coercive tactics” to secure her signature on a statement denying the affair.

Donald Trump Warns Americans

Despite the charges, Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty. After the historic verdict, which marked him as the first former president in U.S. history to be convicted of a crime, he took to his social media platform to reiterate his stance.

“My bookkeeper called a ‘Legal Expense,’ on the ‘tiny’ description line of the Ledger, a ‘Legal Expense,’ openly paid to my lawyer, at that time a fully accredited one. I was not involved in that designation, but what else would you have called it?” Trump questioned.

“It was, in fact, a LEGAL EXPENSE. That is the so-called ‘CRIME.’ On top of that, I wasn’t allowed by the judge to use, in any form, the standard RELIANCE ON COUNSEL DEFENSE (ADVICE OF COUNSEL!),” he added.

“My lawyer, at the time, did virtually everything on the NDA (NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT), and I assumed that what he did was correct,” Trump concluded his post. “WITCH HUNT! IF THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ME, IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE!”

Trump has said that the true verdict will be delivered on November 5, when the election takes place.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Criticizes After Trump’s Conviction

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. criticized the Democratic Party’s approach in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, following the landmark ruling against Donald Trump. “The Democratic Party’s strategy is to beat President Trump in the courtroom rather than the ballot box,” Kennedy wrote. “This will backfire in November.”

Will Donald Trump Be Sentenced To Prison?

Now comes the sentencing and the possibility of a prison sentence, followed by a lengthy appeals process. Meanwhile, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee still faces three more criminal cases and a campaign that could return him to the White House.

Judge Juan Merchan now faces the challenge of deciding whether Donald Trump should be imprisoned. Each of the 34 felony charges carries up to a $5,000 fine and a four-year prison sentence. Trump’s sentencing is set for July 11.

Donald Trump has been convicted of falsifying business records, a Class E felony in New York, the lowest tier of felony charges in the state. This conviction carries a potential punishment of up to four years in prison. However, the final decision rests with the judge, and there’s no certainty that Trump will face time behind bars.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has not disclosed whether the prosecution will seek a prison sentence for the former president.
